What is Hawaiian Bread?
    Posted by jcbsjr
<div>It's kind of a sweeter bread.  In our grocery store they have it over by the bakery usually, sometimes it's over with the other bread.  The kind I use is called Kings Hawaiian Bread and it's a round loaf in an orange bag. <a href="http://www.kingshawaiian.com/products/original-hawaiian-sweet.php">clicky</a> this link shows a picture</div>

I've never taken a cooking class but I find the food network to be really helpful.  They talk about techniques while demonstrating them and showing you how to make yummy recipes.  I agree that a class about cooking techniques would be fun though.

I also have a cookbook called Betty Crocker's Cooking Basics, that gives you basic techniques for cooking different foods.  It's my go to book when I can't remember how to get the perfect hard boiled egg or at what temperature and for what length of time I should bake chicken.

It's good stuff. A friend of mine just told me the other day that she bought a 24 pack of the dinner rolls and ate all of them in one day LOL.  I don't get that excited about it, but it is a nice change from time to time.

Jen - I don't know when you changed your sig, but that might be the funniest thing I've seen all week!

Anyone know what that place is called where you go and fix lots of meals and then take them home and freeze them?

I just took a pasta making class here in Chicago and I really enjoyed it. I don't know if you have Groupon.com for your area but that is where we found the pasta making class. It was half off the regular price. It might be a good place to start looking - at least for a deal to try a class to see if you like it.

Jen: Take Cooking classes, and watch Good Eats. :)

Also, get a Kitchen Aid. I swear, I use it, AT LEAST 6 times a week.

We have a Kitchen Aid, and I have never used it ever. I have my mom's avocado green hand mixer that she got as a wedding present in 1968 that still works, so I use that. Way less cumbersome.

Gah, I use it for EVERYTHING, not just baking. We have the meat grinder attachment, and the ice cream maker attachment. For Christmas, I'm getting FI the pasta maker attachment.

It's not just for baking people!

I bet homemade pasta is divine. I always drool over homemade ravioli recipes.

The meat grinder reminds me too much of The Wall.

If you sign up for Lowes Home Improvement FB page, at 12:01 tonight they are distributing 1000 90% off coupons for a kitchenaid mixer. I only tell you this because I don't want one. ;)

All the details are on their page, and you have to RSVP to their Black Friday Preview Party to get the coupon code at 12:01. I suggest pulling up the Lowes page, finding the mixer, and leaving it open until you have the code and can get in on the deal. GL!
