I think what Meg is getting at is that the Switzerland thing is a constant reminder that there is a divide, which just perpetuates the whole board war thing.  So when Any added it to her sig she perpetuated a drama she didn't even understand because she wans't involved with it to begin with.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now.
My only TK confession is that when I first started lurking on the int'l boards I thought that people reacted to typical posts (my BMs aren't doing enough/I refuse to have any kids at my reception and want to write it on the invite/my parents won't pay/I can't afford cash bar/etc) much too strongly and typically I found them to be mean (and this made me lurk for a long time).   Now, having been here over a year, I can understand why regs react they do. I find that I have to actually try to sound nice and explain why they can't do it/have to do it/etc...rather than just write: get over yourself. I will also confess that even though I have been here a year I STILL don't care if someone calls it a wedding when it should be a vow renewal. I kinda understand why they want their 'moment' and I don't care, even if I don't know that they were already married, it wouldn't bother me.  Edited for a spelling error that made my point very difficult to understand...sigh.

I was reading this with a smile on my face, because I was here back when you first started posting on SB, and I remember you being an exception to the "why is everyone here so meeeeaan?!" posters, because you stood your ground but respectfully argued with us about why it's unnecessary to be so harsh about things. I think it's not something easily explained or understood through anything but personal experiernce. So I just think it's neat how you've come around and can see and relate to the other POV now, and write about it here. :)
Number, I don't care what they call it either so long as they are honest with their guests. I wouldn't like being lied to. I also don't really care about having a party back home after a DW. My uncle is doing this and I can't wait, it's going to be a kick-ass AHR and everyone is excited. Multiple people have even offered to host it.
Posted by Seshat411
<div>
</div><div>Yeah, I mean, I would rather be told the truth too but when so many people have strong opinions on the matter I can see why people keep it to themselves. I would like to think that most of my friends would be honest though. We attended a 2nd wedding for a friend of DHs last May, they had been married overseas in Sri Lanka a year prior but hadn't had the Catholic church wedding (he's Catholic, she Buddist) so they had a full on wedding here in Canada. I didn't care that they had been husband and wife for a year or that it was technically their 2nd wedding. I also laughed when we got their Christmas card today and there was a thank-you card slipped in to it. I wonder if we got it (8 months after the wedding) because they had received ours earlier this month!).  </div><div>
</div><div>As for AHR, I don't care about them per se. We do know someone however who is having an AHR after a DW and chose a hall that has a 150 person minimum. Supposedly they wanted a DW because they have such small families...well now they are inviting friends of siblings and friends of friends to meet the 150 minimum and I give that a side eye. I know they want a rocking party, I just think it is weird to invite people you only know in passing to your wedding (unless it is because your parents want them there, which is not the case here, they just need to fill seats).

</div>
• Bhahaha CS, you'd have to be on hell of a troll to surprise people over there.

You have

1. I pee in my husband's hands
2. I use a family cloth
3. Christmas is only for Christians

And that isn't even the craziest of the crazy.

Yes, and "Switzerland" has been used specifially as terminology in the boardwar discussions in the past. I've used it myself. I think that, in general most people are over it, but it comes back sometimes.

</div><div>Even without that though, I think what I really learned is that part of why regs react so strongly is because if you lurk a bit you MUST know that what you are posting on may not be reacted to well. How can you not read every other post on WP and not realize that you are NOT going to get the answer you want.
In Response to Re: S/O of...well, a lot of things. Knot Confessions. : Actually one poster said she wanted to sit in her H's lap and pee between his legs while he poops. I guess to each their own? Maybe she was kidding? It was in the same pee confession thread.

I asked H if I could do that while he was in the bathroom and he said, "Um, hell no," then I heard him lock the door.

OK, I admit, when I read something totally insane like that on TK, I usually go and say it to H just for the reaction. It's a lot of fun, and he probably thinks I'm crazy.
• LOL Ses, I do the same. I will be like "Say I asked you...." and his response is usually "Um, no"

• I have no MUD or anything like that, sadly my real drama is enough. lol

I'll jump on the Celles train, she says a lot of things I agree with. Pretty much most people here are cool. I like SB because of the lack of sugarcoating things. As far as dislikes don't have many but I don't get the hype around kiki she kind of just strikes me as a tool based on her posts but everyone's gotta do their own thing.

If you're going to dislike someone, you should probably at least do it on a board they post on.  Just saying.
