How did you meet your guy?  We met at a local bar - I actually shot him down the first time he asked me out but he tried again a year & a half later, I guess I was ready that time.

How did he propose?  On Christmas Eve last year, in front of both sets of parents

Why are you lurking on SB?  I'm usually late to the game, by the time I read something I'd like to respond to, someone has already said what I'm gonna say

That's awesome, I love supporting the local retailers.  I haven't found many local places here that don't use regular milk exclusively, so I can't get anything there and not hate myself later.  It makes me sad.

While I was getting ready for dinner - he was afraid he's "lose" the ring if he stuck it in his pocket for dinner - or that I would see it if he left it in the box, so when I asked if I should where my hair up or down, he shoved it in my face and asked "Will this help?"  I started bawling.  I knew it was coming, but it was awesome.  We were in NOLA, and when we went to dinner they asked if we were celebrating...I just beamed and stuck out my finger.  The then wrote "Congratulations" in chocolate on our dessert plates.  Date:  May 21st

Why are you lurking on SB?
Trying to transition from lurker but knowing have to "pay my dues" so to speak.  No instant BFF expectations here.  Just paying attention, practicing my "lightning reply".  I also think I need a faster laptop.  I'm the type who researches and inspects things from all angles before jumping in.  I don't just throw myself into anything without much preparation.  (Plus the conversations and personalities are fascinating.)

Anna - loving the Christmas Vibe.
AATB, Any, Nebb - crap I'd have to go back and look at names - I have a memory of a gnat.  Overall, I'd say the whit and humor of all is appreciated. 

Least favorite posters?
don't have an opinion on this yet, but I think there would be a few where are views will disagree....Republican/Democrat etc that sort of thing - that doesn't mean they'd be my least fav - I might actually learn the most from them.

How did he propose? in a restaurant in amsterdam, actually, he took the ring out of his pocket, i grabbed it, put it on and started bawling, he still claims that techincally, he hasn't proposed but suck it up FI we've set the date

Why are you lurking on SB? i find it to be quite relaxed and accepting and some good banter

-I dated his stepbrother in 6th grade. Then I dated him in 8th. We stayed friends in high school, and one night I got him drunk on tequila and took advantage of him. He's loved me ever since. True story.

Uhh, he didn't, really. We just went and bought a ring. No down on one knee crap. I don't even think he put the ring on my finger...he must not really love me.

I post some, just not exclusively.

I really don't have a least favorite. No one drives me insane. I've named Missy here previously because I usually skim over her posts, but I don't think it's fair to actually label her as a least favorite.

When is/was the wedding?
September 10, 2011.  Not because of the cute factor, but there were lots of time restraints we had to deal with. 

How did you meet your guy?
We worked as servers together a few summers ago. 

How did he propose?
After I stayed the night before my birthday, we woke up and I got up and showered, got ready, etc.  When I came back into the bedroom, he had set up a bouquet of roses on the bed and had me sit down on the bed, and asked me to marry him Pretty simple proposal, but he knew I wouldn't like a cheesy scene.

Why are you lurking on SB?
I mostly lurk because I'm either A) at work and it's too much of a hassle to type on my phone browser, or I have nothing pertinent to add to conversations.  But I pipe in sometimes.  I like the vibe over here.

ETA: Can't believe I forgot AATB and Any.

I don't like to risk hurting people's feelings, so I don't want to say who I used to dislike.  However, for the record, I no longer feel that way about anyone, and have reformed to hardcore liking almost all posters here.

At a Baylor University happy hour. I am a graduate of the school, my FI is not. He crashed the party.

How did he propose?
We went to the restaurant where we had our first date. Afterwards we were walking around these fountains that are synchronized to music. He asked if I wanted to take a picture with them in the background and pulled out a disposable camera from his pocket. He asked a lady to take a picture of us and when she asked "What exactly do you want me to take a picture of...?" he replied, "Get the fountains in the background, and make sure to get me proposing to my future wife!" It was very sweet. Unfortunately, though, the lady we asked didn't know how to work a disposable camera, so we only got one photo from it all. Boo.

I post here and there. I am trying to be more regular with my posts.
