How is it 8:43 and no morning thread?

Re: How is it 8:43 and no morning thread?

• SEWF - Depending on when you'll arrive, we need to GTG.  I leave on the 6th for Minneapolis (GTG MN peeps?) for a wedding, but I'll be around during the week before.
I also hate leaving things early.  H always has to leave weddings early because of work and I feel like such a jerk, but he doesnt have a choice.  We have started taking our own cars so I can stay and have fun at wedding, lol.
Posted by Blueyed228
I'm going to stay with his parents and just ride home with them.  He will just take our car with him when he goes.

I feel like I'm going to be disecting the whole day though because it is right before mine and I want to see what does and doesn't work.  I feel like a jerk for that.

I'm usually one of the first to leave places early. I like to be home. I'm definitely of the "make an appearance and hit the road" sort.

ETA - we are also usually the last to arrive. I do kind of hate that since I feel rude, showing up after the party is going (unless there is a specific time to be there, like a wedding). But, with H's job we can't spend hours at a place so we just go for a little bit.
• Ushers are totally just a way to 'include' people that normally woudln't be GMs. Like my teenage brothers. ;)  They wanted to wear tuxes for the wedding, and thought it was awesome they had a role. They did help out with a lot of stuff, but we didn't really want them to be GMs either.

Ushers are super common here, but yeah- they don't really 'make sense'.

<div>My H has the 4th off, and he's going to try to get the rest of the week off, so we'd probably drive out on the fourth (I hate the fourth anyway- fireworks suck), so maybe the 5th? I don't know if H has asked for the time off yet, though. I'll ask him tonight.</div>

• Good morning, ladies.

Poor kitty.  8*(     I saw a kitty that had been hit yesterday and I immediately looked away and convinced myself it was a tshirt in the road.  I couldn't think of it being a kitty.

I don't like road trips with DH, because he won't turn on the A/C and he doesn't like the radio or music on.  Hot, silent miles are NOT FUN.  I'd rather go alone and jam to my iPod.

Stupid question - I can't get to TN at all (and I'm nosy about the old ML board).  I get an error message (not blocked at work, just the 'can't display this site' error.  I cleared my cache and it still won't load, either directly or via a link).  Ideas?

• I dunno, we had our ushers hand out programs and yes, seat people. and roll out the aisle runner for my big princess entrance. I would agree that they are a way to include people more than anything. I mean, they might have had more duties also, seeing as my church coordinator lady had a solid 15 min convo with them after the rehearsal about what they needed to do.

Anyways, good morning! Is it the weekend yet?

And, road trips: I wish I enjoyed them, but I am someone that typically just likes being someplace and not the travelling aspect.

I have the opposite problem.  I have to wear a sweatshirt and long pants with a blanket while FI wears shorts and a tshirt for us to both be happy.  Poor Sadie hides under the blanket with me too.

• Why no AC, les? I would be fine with no radio since I rarely use it anyway, but I'd die with no AC.
• All the 'old' ML drama.  I can get to theNest.com, but when I click on 'community' or a link to the boards I can't get there.

• I had a dream last night that I was eating with Nebb and we were talking about Blue, and Nebb kept making fun of me because I was calling her "Blue" and not her IRL name.  And Nebb told me that Dot had called off her wedding-- I actually checked the evening thread this morning because I didn't realize that was something that didn't actually happen.  So that was weird.

We didn't have ushers-- the GMs just seated people who needed to be seated.

• Because he's weird, Sesh.  Geez - the truck has A/C, let's use it.  I can't imagine the difference in mpg is that much with the A/C on.

• day weddings aren't normal here either.  People kind of thought we were crazy for our noon wedding on a Sunday, but meh. We didn't want the big hoopla with a dance and all that, so it worked out well for us.

Usually ceremonies are at like 4 with cocktail hour or so. Then dinner around 6 and dance/reception from 8-midnight.
• We had a day wedding. I wanted that for one reason - I didn't want to deal with people late at night as they drank and partied (and that's what they would do, with that crowd). I wanted them to eat, hang out for a bit, and go home so we could relax at the cabin (we stayed at the place where we got married that night).

The weird part about that was that after everyone left, it wasn't anywhere near time for bed so H and I were sitting on the couch just like, "Huh. So. What do you want to do now?" So we went fishing. Then watched TV.
• Ash- I would bet money that when I go visit Nebb that I call her Nebby and she calls me Blue at least half the time.

Why are you dreaming about me?  Do you have a Janice Ian style lesbian crush on me?

Les- You free on the 5th (evening, obviously)?

H is kind of worried about money at this point (he has a friends wedding in Minnesota in August that he'll have to fly and get a room for), so we're not 100% on the Denver trip yet. We really want to go to see his sister, who will be going to vet school in Ireland for three years, but it's still up in the air.

I actually check myself from calling you by your real name on here a lot.
• I call AATB "Boobs" so im sure that will make for an uncomfortable situation for the people sitting next to us.

• Morning foks.

Speaking of road trips (though it doesn't count as a road trip if you do it almost every week does it?), we are making the drive back up to MI this evening for all the wedding festivities. Our rehearsal/dinner is tomorrow, Friday will include going to the hotel, mani/pedis and picking up my dress and then the wedding is Saturday!

Things I am most excited for (besides being married) post-wedding include:
-cutting my fingernails. I haven't cut them in probably 11 days. I am a freak about them usually..I'll cut them as soon as some of the white part of th nail is actually showing so this is driving me up a wall right now.

-cutting my hair. FI proposed when it was already really long and I wanted it long for the wedding so I got stuck with this annoying hair for 14 months.

-Honeymoon (Antigua). So excited!

Now if you start giving out my last name, address, SSN, etc.  Then we be fightin.
