Snarky Brides

Lose-lose situation (vent)

I'm stressing so much about my sister's wedding right now, I can't even fall asleep. Aside from the fact that I hate the BM dress (even though it is better than the 1st one she had picked), and my sister is being completely, irritatingly high maintenance and dramatic about everything, DH and I are having to decide whether or not he can come with me.

If he comes - we need to pay for both our flights and 4 nights in a hotel room, and he misses 3-4 days of one job, and 1 day of his other job. We would be out financially the equivalent of an entire month's salary for him.

If I go alone - I'm only out my 3 days of work and plane ticket (which is still a lot of money for us). I share a "free" hotel room with my brother (who hasn't spoken to me in over a year and a half) and little sister, and I don't have DH there to help keep me from going insane around my family. I don't sleep well when DH is not there, so I'll probably be exhausted and grumpy as well.

Both options completely suck. :P

az, I'm so sorry =(.  Did your sister go with the flesh-colored dress (that was you, right?) or was that the first one she picked?

Anyway, Both options do royally suck.  In all honesty, if I thought we could get by with H coming and not be put in too terrible of a financial situation afterwards, I'd want him to come with.

  • I'm sorry, AZ.  That really is a lose/lose.  Personally, I'd go without him for the financial reasons.

Not quite the same color, but yeah, basically flesh colored.

<div>Oh no flesh color bridesmaid dresses! I avoided those for my bridesmaids because it washed all of them out, and I was washed out by standing next to them. <div>
</div><div>However if we were having a zombie theme wedding, the dresses would have worked out perfectly since they made us look like the living dead.</div></div>

AZ that's a tough decision.  If you do go without your H, can you get your own hotel room so at least you don't have to share and can have a quiet place to go if you need a break from the family?  I know it's an added cost but may be worth your sanity.  Just a thought.

  • I'm sorry AZ I think I would go without him to save money and try and tell myself it's only for a few days.
