I know it is!! When we decided to move here and I told my friends I had news, they were all like "don't tell me you're moving AGAIN".  Ha.  But H and I were LD when I was in OH and it sucked (H was still in school in DC), hence why I moved back to DC/MD.  Then after 2 years there, we got tired of the COL, and my parents had just moved here to NC to retire, so we decided to move to be near them/in a place where we might actually be able to afford to buy a house and raise a family eventually.

I hear you, LP.  NC was originally on our list of possible moves, but I think we're going to try to stay more local and just look for a slightly lower COL. 

Edie, I just had a brutal headache and ended up throwing up during my last class. Thank God it's my one inclusion class, so I had my support teacher as backup.  Bax had a vet appointment, too, but I had to cancel it.  I just was in bed for hours, battling it out, and finally I started feeling better about the time N got home. He brought me some soda, which usually helps.

Life is pretty good - we're trying to live 2012 really frugally and organized and finally get the house together, so we'll have to see what ends up happening. I'm pretty sure Brian's already given up the organized portion of the plan. He's kinda useless sometimes. He'd better be happy he's got a cute butt.

No new races just yet - but I've got a 5K in February. Gotta stick with my one race per month resolution. So far I've got a 15K in Jacksonville, FL in March and a 5k+ Warrior Run with obstacles and stuff in April. I'm excited. Ricks is doing the warrior run too! She's so tiny, it's going to be fun to watch her!

I'm drinking a K-cup of milk chocolate hot cocoa. I do not recommend it. =(

Thats awkward Koda. I had a massage tuesday and requested that she work on my periformus (I think that's what it's called?) and my IT band, so she put pressure on my butt...but that's the only time a masseuse has made ass contact before. I dont think I'd like that much.

And that whole "touching but not really massaging" thing annoys me. Don't just like...wiggle your hand on my back. I'm paying you to MASSAGE ME. Not rub my back.

Ha, thanks. It's only 9.3 miles - so I think I'll be okay. After I did the half (13.1) anything less seems like a piece of cake...you can do it too!

LDY, that's awesome! We're trying to be good with money, too, so we can finally have a downpayment for a house. That didn't stop me from buying the new Urban Decay Naked Palatte, though   No, but seriously we've been saving and it sucks balls. I just want to be out of this apartment and into a bigger space, though.

I can't run a 5k - I can FINISH one...but there are definitely walking breaks. I'm only able to run a mile straight so far, but I haven't been conditioning and training like I should be. I need to work on that. <div>

Nates - saving is so hard. I need my money to be out of sight to save it. Brian has to see his money - so he just tells me when not to spend money. It's really helped us though to use cash almost exclusively. If we dont have the cash, we don't do/get it. We end up keeping half of our non-bills money every month unless we get stupid. Plus we keep our coins and we cash those in around trips, etc. 

We've only been doing it for about 2 months, but so far, there's improvement How have y'all been going about saving?

I enjoy renting in some ways, like not having to shovel or pay for repairs.  But we seriously need more space.  We're not willing to look at houses until we have a hefty downpayment, so I think our plan is to move to a bigger place and then TTC, then house-buy. It's backwards of how I wanted to do it, but we don't want to wait too much longer to TTC.

I've had 3 hot stone massages...they kinda rub the stones around on you. I liked it - but I prefer the deep tissues. They do a lot more. Stones are really relaxing though.

I wish we had waited to buy, but having X in an apartment just wasn't fair and no one wanted to rent a house around here that was decently priced and actually included maintenance. It was dumb. So we bought this place and it's less than our apartment, plus, we have a huge backyard for the dogs and no neighbors on top or beside us. 

Plus, we got some crazy loans b/c of where the house is located and yada yada yada. Whatever. It's a good little starter home with room for a kid. We're good.

Koda, they put the hot stones along your backbone and then work on your back. Then repeat on your legs. They also put the hot stone in your hand while they work on your arms. The stones are very smooth. Not sure i am describing it very well.

That's a great way to do it, Edie! I used to work 3 jobs at one point and all of my money from the lesser paying job went to savings. Maybe I need to look at getting a part time gig...

I love hot stones. I'm not a big massage person because i really can't stand people touching me, but the stones are heaven.

LDY, the cash thing is a great plan.  I do it over the summer, when I'm on a really tight budget.  We made a joint budget, which is working really well so far. We used to just divide up the bills, but we've combined all of our bills and the majority of our checks go into our checking and savings.  Then, the rest goes into our personal checking, as "fun" money. This way, we don't feel like we have to run purchases by each other (which I would hate), but we still are socking away a good amount.  I can't wait for tax refunds.  We're such misers with our joint savings :P

LP - I know I'm late but oh well: don't worry about the condition of the book! I love old books, that's why I'm such a library nut. And I don't read books because they're pretty, I read them because I want a big, fat brain.

Evening girls! H manages our finances. It's kind of backwards of what you'd think because I'm an accounting clerk, but I can only look at money spreadsheets for so long before I go nutty. We try to put a bit away at the end of each month, and we use a CC but pay it off at the end of every month, so we build credit.
