I get so irritated when I comment on a post or picture and then FB automatically sends notifications to my damn phone every time someone else comments on it.  I always intend to change it but forget about it 5 seconds later.

I get like that when I say congrats or something on someone's status and then a million more people do it too.
Thanks, Hike.  I don't want to jinx it, but I think I might have the best grades since I was in high school this semester-- which, considering my totally fucked up year, is really exciting. I like the actress who plays Quinn, but her character grates on my nerves.  And the whole Rachel and Finn being engaged thing pisses me off.
    Posted by Smash Adams
<div>The writing for Quinn has been pretty inconsistent since the second season.  I don't think the writers really knew what do with her after the first season.  And ITA about Rachel and Finn.</div>
That stinks.  I thought there was still hope.  GL at your interview!
    Posted by brandichamberlain
Thanks!  There was hope until we had our budget meeting on Friday night.  Just to RUN the school (without even paying salaries) we need 40 students.  We only have 5 signed contracts and another 15 verbal yesses.  In order to pay teachers as well, we'd need another 30 students on top of that.  Never gonna happen.

I also found out yesterday that the lady who taught junior-k (before everything happened..she was one of the 14 who left) made more money than me per year... even though she only taught half day kindergarten.  Basically she was at school half the time I was and was making roughly 100 more per paycheck than me.  I was seething when I found that out.

Gotta love the hierarchy and favortism of a private school with no accountability.. Blegh I'm glad to be done. The only thing I'm going to miss is my students.  They're awesome.

Teresa was playing for a charity I work with on Celebrity Apprentice. From what I hear they were really not sure if that kind of association was something they wanted or not.

I finally finished all my prep tonight and now I'm just browsing cars online. We're considering trading FH's car in for something slightly larger but we haven't decided yet. The Yaris works 99% of the time but when we go camping with the dog it's a bit tioght. We'll see how things go this weekend and then decide.

  • 5 students?! Yeah, that's not going to work out too well.

  • I'm glad you have an alternative, chels. That sucks the school is closing but at least you aren't completely screwed out of a job. That owner needs to get her shiiiit together.
  • Nope, not so much lol.  We were talking about making a charter school, but the process takes 10 months.  We'd have to be able to stay afloat next year to make a charter school out of it for the following year.
Funny how when I recommended it (doing a charter) last fall (aka when it wouldn't have been too late to do it for next fall) I was shot down.

She's been out of power in the school for over a month now.  But she did so much damage, it's irreperable without going through a copule school years to get back on the right path.
  • I just checked and as of Saturday, my car was paid off.  That's an awesome feeling.

  • Smash- I can not wait for that day.  But that will mean that we start a new loan for FI.

  • It's exciting.  I think I might take the car payment amount and put it towards my student loan principle now, since I'm going to have a buttload of them once I'm done with school.  It's a never ending cycle, yay.

I uploaded my pics from this weekend:

Sadly, thats just a fraction of what we ate that day lol. I forgot to take pics of the fish tacos, smoked meat poutine, and schnitzel sandwich.
  • Nebb, that just reminded me how hungry I am.

  • I want to go to a food truck...show? Fair? Event? Not sure what they are called. That's basically the only reason I go to fairs, for all the food trucks set up offering awesome treats.

I would call it an event. This is the first thing weve ever had down here where I live and the turn out was insane - they sold 6000 tickets for both days combined. A friend of mine who went said he waited in line an hour and a half for the grilled cheese! (which makes me laugh cause we got there early enough we only waited about 15 minutes)
  • Hey, everyone.

Eli came home tonight from a week at the vet's office. I am over the moon, and can't stop hugging him. This has been the longest week ever. I can't imagine what it will be like when I have the baby to worry about...
  • That must have been a damn good grilled cheese.

Now that I know H and I can use those free tickets to Epcot, I'm already daydreaming over the awesomeness that awaits us at the Food & Wine Festival. Why must November be so far away?
  • Nebb, I'm glad you guys had a good time. H and I almost bought tickets, but then Eli had to stay at the vet's longer than expected, so we opted to save the $$ and stay here instead to landscape the yard. I had to suffer and make strawberry shortcake at home and not have it in a delicious cupcake. ;)

lol I wish I had of known, I would have picked you up some strawberry shortcake cupcakes instead.
  • I wonder how they made those cupcakes...I find myself staring at your picture and wondering if I could re-create that. Mmmm.

I'm going to lurk and wait for the cupcake truck to come around again. I've seen it before, and if I had been the person driving at the time, I would have pulled over and gotten myself some deliciousness.

  • We just got done with dinner. The Bacon Cheeseburger Rigatoni was a big success. FI went back for 3rds. Lots of leftovers too.

I'm totally pooped. FI's been sleeping like crap and therefore I have been sleeping like crap because he keeps getting up.

    I'm thinking 10:00 bedtime tonight.

Did you know the cupcake truck delivers? If you call or message them or someting in the morning and put in your order, they will deliver it to you. I think you have to order a minimum of 6 or 12 or something though.
