Snarky Brides

Who's around?

I just back from food shopping (yay to good sales) and I'm waiting for FI to come home so we can decide what to do later.

Here's a question for un: Do you have a girl crush? Who is it?

I love Jackie Warner and Kylie MInogue.

I'm here for a minute, so I'll play.

H and were actually just talking about girl crushes from our childhood. I never had posters of guys on my walls, like Kirk Cameron or River Phoenix. Instead, it was The Bangles and Holly Robinson from 21 Jump Street. I don't think I was bisexual at that age, but I did have a girl crush on Susanna Hoffs and Holly Robinson. I just liked looking at them a lot more than any dudes.

I don't really have a girl crush right now. I used to have a girl crush on Tyra before she got weird, and Beyonce... before she got weird too. ;) Angelina Jolie is a potential one, but only in some movies.

ETA: Okay, and Christina Hendricks. Thanks for reminding me MIAF. :)

• I have no girl crushes. I did just order my Kindle though, and I'm crushing pretty hard on that.
• Hey-o! I'm here.. Bored as hell.. Haha.

Girl crushes - Isla Fisher and Zooey Deschanel.. Emily Deschanel  is incredibly gorgeous as well..
• No girl crush. But I'm around here on the boards today. I'm bored. My sister is out running around with her sister in law. I get to puppy sit. They're in the crate sleeping so I get free and quiet time. It's like having 2 babies around.

Watching The Time Traveler's Wife-good movie.

• Yes, Mica!  Me too.  I love watching that show for the clothes.

I agree with Isla Fisher.  She's so beautiful.  I have a style crush on Sienna Miller.
• I am jealous of the Kindle, Sunrise.

I'm so excited. I found a  "Science Fiction & Fantasy eBook Master Collection" torrent that I'm going to start when I get home. Sorry Amazon, I would go bankrupt if I bought your books too.

Only thing that sucks is it's out of stock, so won't ship until around the 24th =(
• I dont really have any girl crushes but style crush, Carrie Underwood.  I am also in love with her hair.

That's awesome!  I really want to get a Kindle or some kind of e-reader, but I'm afraid I'd miss the feel of books and wouldn't get much use out of it.  Or that I'd start to resent it (I know I'm weird).  I buy some things by authors I know I love, but other than that I use the library like an old lady.
• I'm here. FI and I are about to start watching the FSU game. I can't say I have any girl crushes, but I might think of a few if I try hard enough.
Natesgirl I think I have a style crush on Sandra Bullock and not just for her clothes.  She has handled this whole divorce drama in a really classy way and I like that about her.  Her husband and Kat Von D are just gross. Plus I love her hair and she is hillarious.  Hmmmm maybe I do have a girl crush!
Posted by mica001
Sounds like a girl crush to me!  I agree about how classy she is, though.  It makes me sad because I loved Kat Von D's style and think she's really pretty, but now she's acting so trashy :(.
• I put a Kindle and Nook app on my phone (Droid x). It is pretty nice.

Yeah, I'd empty out my bank account really quick if I bought them on Amazon. I also have most of them in print, so I don't feel as bad about it.

I think I'll be okay if it doesn't feel like a book. It'd be so convienent to be able to have every book I own with me at all times. No more packing 8 600 page books on trips!! So excited. I'll let you know how it is!
• I hear you, Sunrise.  I have wayyyy too many books and it's definitely more environmentally friendly.

Mica, I know!  Most of my girl crushes are on women I want to look/act/dress like.  I admire them for their intelligence, style, grace, beauty, whatever.  It makes me mad that she's off the list.  I still love Dita Von Teese, though.  I wish I could moel her sexy 50s retro thing all the time.
• I have to post and run but i had to contribute.

I get a hard on for Natalie Portman every time.

That's the one thing I wondered about when I was debating on getting a Kindle - would I miss the 'real book'?

FI got me one for my birthday earlier this year, and I LOVE IT! The battery lasts for freaking ever. It's so small and easy to carry around with me anywhere. And since I travel a lot, it saves me from trying to pack enough reading material for flights or cruises or anything like that. I even do crossword puzzles on that thing :D

Oh, and as far as girl crushes, I'm sure none of you know her, but I'd have to go with Jamie Eason. Google Image search her. Super hot. And she's a sweetheart too.

• I have told J before, and if you asked him, he could tell you, but given the chance and I would leave him (for a night) for Gisele Bundchen.  I get it up for her everytime.

• I'm escaping the insane football tension in my basement for a moment.  Lots.  Of.  Yelling.  Miami vs. Ohio State, and no matter who I'm cheering for I'm from Miami so I'm guilty by association.

Girl crush...Eva Mendes, hands down.

• I'm here, back after some BS with the AC and then chatting with H, who is now absorbed in a video game. Dinner is in the oven, chili spaghetti, and it smells so good but won't be done for another 45 minutes. Boo.

Girl crush. Angelina Jolie, particularly all tatted up in Wanted. Hillary Swank, more from her look in The Reaping. Penelope Cruz, the woman is just damn gorgeous. I know there is one more I always think is drop-dead beautiful, but she's not coming to mind at the moment.
• Trust me you would love a Kindle. I was thinking the same thing until I got mine now I look at normal books a little funny.

Girl Crush? hmmmm. I'm gonna go with Megan Fox and Gabrielle Union!
In Response to Re: Who's around? : INatesgril t's like we are sharing the same brain today!  Love the look and wish I had the money and the body to pull it off.  I agree with all of you on the Kindle thing.  Would love to have one but would be broke real fast.  Just recently found a fantastic used book store that is helping me with my habit.  I can still read but at a reduced rate.  I love the way it smells in there.  You know that fragrance of books is intoxicating.  I think I would miss that.  What did you read last and did you like it?
Posted by mica001
Sorry! FI came home and I disappeared from the thread.  I just finisehd Eat Pray Love last month and I loved it.  I'm reading Sole Survivor by Dean Koontz now.  And lots and lots for my grad classes.

ETA: posted too fast.  What about you, Mica?
• Haven't seen the movie yet, but my first prediction is that I won't like it, except superficially.  It will be good to see some of the book visually, like all of the amazing locations, but I think the movie will gloss over the self-realization ans spirituality parts.  I really enjoyed the book, though, and would definitely recommend it.

Okay, I'm out again.  We're off to Qdoba for dinner!
• Angelina Jolie, I think she'd be a total freak.
Nicole Kidman
Winona Ryder

Non-sexual girl crush is Sandra Bullock. She is one of my favorite actresses

• Mica, I loved Eat Pray Love.  I read the first chapter on a plane after a bad breakup, and literally started bawling.  Like tears, snot, the whole 9.  It was very impactful at that point in my life.  I agree with NatesGirl on the movie...I'm afraid it will ruin it for me.

• Girl Crushes
Megan Fox
Natalie Portman

I would also want to be friends with Jennifer Aniston and Sanda Bullock. The way they have handled emotional issues in the past amaze me.

I borrowed a book on 100 Baby Squares from the library and am loving it! It's a collection of 100 squares that can be combined into a blanket and has some beautiful designs.

I want to read Eat, Pray, Love but it's checked out of the library until October 30th  :(

See I knew there was a reason I liked you, I used to collect Dean Koontz books. Actually DH still buys them for me, but I think he is just mailing them in now, because he has one every year now. My fav is Dark Rivers of the Heart.

So you must be my girl crush! I've always loved Jennifer Aniston, and always will even if her movies suck. Another is Kiera Knightly especially in Love Actually.
