I didn't Zales was bad either ... but then again, I had no clue people were snobby about David's ... up until the Knot, I thought only really rich people went to Kleinfelds and Tiffany's .

Nearly everyone I know has gotten their dress at David's, whether their budget was minimal or above average.  I liked how my DB dress felt more than I liked the AA lace dresses.

I liked the dresses at DB, but I found the service to be sub-par to some of private salons in my area.

Sadly, I truly found the quality of dresses and the especially the service HORRIBLE at DB. This makes no sense in the long run though because I have seen plenty of brides (both in photos and IRL) in gorgeous DB dresses. I do hate to say it, but everything about DB sucked for me at both locations I went to

My dress is from David's and I had great service.  My dress is lace, and I think it is of the same quality of other lace dresses I've tried on. Some of the other materials didn't feel as nice on my skin. To each their own though - I would be uncomfortable dragging around an enormous taffeta gown with a huge train even if it did cost $8,000. I felt good in the cheaper lace dress, so I bought it!

I side-eye the Zales PS.  My ring is from Zales and I don't see any problems with it.  FI was able to request the diamond he wanted (size, color, etc.) and they got it for him. I see no difference in him getting it there, or going to a "big name" store and requesting the exact same thing.
