I have one.  I do NOT understand the names people are choosing for their babies lately.  I'm not talking about celebrities, either...normal people that I KNOW.  I mean, wtf happened to nice, normal names?  Names like: John, Mary, Anne, Mark, etc.??

To add to Mandy's-The problem isn't even just odd names, it's the effed up spelling of acceptable human names. For example: there is a Pieghton (Peyton) in the class I'm subbing for right now...

To go along with Mandy's: It simply amazes me that I STILL get called "Maria" instead of "Mariah".  Dude, do any of these people live in the 21st century???  Do they live in a cave and have they never seen or heard of Mariah Carey??  And since WHEN has adding an "h" onto the end of "Maria" still counted as the name "Maria"???  It astounds me.

It really bothers me when couples are introduced as "Mr. and Mrs. Hisname Lastname". Before the wedding, everyone refers to it as the "Hername & Hisname Wedding" but as soon as the ceremony happens, she loses her name. This will not happen at our wedding, my name is not Courts. We will be introduced as "Mr. and Mrs. Courts and Anna Lastname".

I have a Peden (Payton) in my class right now.  To me, that name looks like something having to do with feet. My name is Julie but I get mail all the time addressed to July.  July is the month.  ie=eeeeeee.

My neice is named Baileigh, and I don't know how many times I've had to ask someone how to spell it.  I'm not even sure I spelled it right just now.  Also, I know 2 kids named Jordan; one is a girl and one is a boy.  Sorry if I call you the wrong gender, but to me, that is a boy's name.

I can't see the name "Nevaeh" with out hearing it in a strong Southern-belle type accent.  I hate the stupid name spellings, too.  Sometimes it makes me think that the parents are illiterate and are spelling names exactly the way they sound.  Other parents are just super-unique and want the world to know that their child is special and perfect and individual and wonderful and waaaaay better than your kid with the normal-sounding name.

Also at my mom's school there was a boy named Baby Boy. (It's an interesting place) That was his legal name, not a nickname. It's maybe cute for a baby, but can you imagine a 30-year-old man named Baby Boy??

When I went back to work from Maternity leave...I had coworkers ask me why didn't I choose a hispanic name for my daughter...since her name is Melody. They would keep on asking like if I was going to say..Ok Let me go change her name real quick! psh!!! It still happens to this day and its annoying. They will tell me name her Maria, Angelica, Claudia or Margarita!

I hate work politics!!!! And people who kiss A$s to upper management. It happens alot at work and they people who deserve credit or promotions usually dont get them. I can't stand when they take smoke breaks every hour and are out there for about 10 - 15 mins each....So I dont feel bad when I take a longer lunch!

Well, my name is the same forwards and backwards, so that would work. But it might be weird to have an Anna Jr.

I have a friend whose grandmother, mother, and older sister are all named Bethia.Beth-eye-uhI actually like the name, but it is definitely old, and odd for a junior and III to be passed down to women!

I want to know why people have no etiquette now a days. Is it that hard?! When I specifically say that we cannot accomodate extra guests and you ADD a flavor of the month to your reply card and thinking I wouldn't notice or was just kidding, don't get upset with me when I nicely tell you that we can't have extra guests when you knew better.

OK, I guess I'm the odd ball on this one but I like the name Piper for a girl and Kade for a boy.  Neither are normal or usual.....but I don't like it when people jack up the spelling to the point where you can't even recognize how to pronounce it.My flame is that I hate it when business associates email me and use horrible English.  I'm the first to admit spelling is NOT my forte, but I at least try to write like I am educated when it comes to business email.  I just got an email that says:Do he have to provide his social security card?Yesterday it was:It feed overnight to to their system

I know someone who used to teach in another district.  She had a girl whose name had two apostrophes.  I am still laughing about the student who approached me the other day, asking for an interview about my club.  "I'm with journalism...or something".
