I'm doing about two months; I'm looking for RSVPs a month in advance- I figure it's a weekday wedding so people will probably know fairly soon whether they can swing that or not.

Yea, I don't want to have to deal with that if I don't have to. Our final count is due to the venue/caterer 14 days before our wedding so I was thinking I should make their RSVP's due the week before that (3 weeks out). That will give us a week to follow up with the folks that didn't reply.

That is very true. How many people are you expecting?

For whatever reason, I tend to sit on invites until the RSVP date gets close.  If I receive the invite well before the RSVP date, that means my chances of forgetting to do so get higher.  Now, I never have forgotten, but many people do, so I want my invites to arrive & people to see the RSVP deadline and realize they only have a week or two to act, so hopefully that spurs them to action immediately.  My date is 8/25 and I plan to send out soon after the 4th of July with an RSVP deadline of 7/31.

I am setting our RSVP date for 1 month prior (so FI"s grandpa can make sure he has enough meat for the reception), so we are sending them out in late May/early June with an RSVP date of July 18th.

I have been planning on sending mine out 3 months prior as (1) we did not do Save the Date's (2) almost all of our guests will be traveling from out of state

Well, guest list stands at about 175-ish but knowing that about a dozen of those are courtesy invites/out of the country/distant family who are 99.9% likely NOT to come and the weekday aspect of it, we're hoping we get maybe 125 to actually come out for it.

We're sending ours 4 months out. I know that that seems extreme but we feel its necassary. Our RSVP date is May 18 3 months before our wedding. We're getting married on Cape Cod and we have alot of out of town guests. Due to planning Travel and Hotels on cape cod our guests need an ample amount of time. If everyone lived here we wouldve done 6 weeks.
