Bachelorette Party Ideas?

Hey guys,
So I'm trying to plan my bachelorette (with the help of my sister and best friend) and I needed some help on some ideas. I live in Denver and I would love to go to Vegas with my girls but most of them can't afford it, and I decided that I would rather stay in Denver and have all of my friends there than go to Vegas and only have a few there.

I was thinking of going Zip Linning or White water rafting during the day (I'm a pretty outdoorsy girl and so are most of my friends). Then I was going to buy a hotel room for us all to get ready at and then go out to clubs and strip clubs, and having a breakfast for everyone the next morning. However Zip linning is $90, and rafting is $49. Is this reasonable to ask them to do? Or does anyone have any fun ideas?

Re: Bachelorette Party Ideas?

  • I think that isn't too much to ask, depending on your group of friends... if someone can't afford it maybe they can opt to do one or the other, or just meet you at the hotel later... since you are local?

  • For mine we are going to Schiltterbahn water park and renting out a bungalo cabin for the weekend in the park. The whole weekend would probably cost them around $100 a person, which to me isn't bad. I have done the bar hoping and the drinking 100x over in Ft Worth and Austin while in college. Don't really feel like doing the same thing I have done before, so I decided to do something so everyone could enjoy.

    Just an idea :)
  • Personally, I would be put off a bit by the price, especially if there were other activities I would rather spend my $$ on.  $150 is a quite the chunk of change.  Being a fellow "outdoorsy" girl myself, here are some suggestions:

Go for a hike.  I went to a bachelorette party where we went to a park (1.5 hrs away) to hike - it's known for it's hiking trail with bluffs and beautiful views.  And, all you have to pay is the park entrance fee.

Consider geocaching if you can get ahold of a GPS.  You could explore a new area by doing this, or if you had multiple GPS, you could turn it into a "competition" with teams - a scavenger hunt of sorts.

Consider camping.  All you would need to do is reserve a (or a few) campsite(s).  That is usually inexpensive and likely a few girls in the group could get their hands on gear to use.  We did this for my sister's party and spend the afternoon at the beach within the campground, then cooked out, and then had some drinks & games.

If nothing else, I would choose either the rafting or the zip-lining you suggested, but not both.

  • White water rafting sounds like a blast.  Any chance you could get a group discount?  And anyone that wasn't up for it or couldn't afford it could definitely meet you later at the hotel or out on the town.  Have a great party...I love the outdoorsy aspect to it.  Rungirl...I love all your ideas, too.  Nothing better than hiking to kill some stress!
  • Just to clarify......I said Zip Linning -OR- white water rafting. Not both. The girls know that too. But thanks for the help!
