August 2012 Weddings

Yay...and oh no....

So FI and I decide to go into Zales to check out their selection of wedding bands for men. We had only looked off and on at different stores but FI had just received a $100 off coupon from Zales so we were thinking, why not look?
We go in and he finds a great ring that he loves (yay part!) so we order it and get our $100 off.
While we were there, I mentioned the trouble I had with my engagment ring and how the place FI originally bought it from told me I was basically crazy (it's a long story). I have lost some weight since FI proposed so I needed to have it resized. The Zales guy offered to resize and re-rhodium the band for $35. This was including a rush so I was like, sure!
Fast forward to when it's ready. Go to pick up both rings and we only took a quick look at everything and walked out of the store. FI asked to look at my ring closer and that's when I saw it. One of my side stones was missing!
Needless to say, FI took my ring and walked back into the store and Zales is replacing my stone for free. I was happy cause I was remarkably calm during the whole thing - FI was the one going crazy LOL. My biggest issue is that they told me I might not get it back until April 18th....

Sorry for the long story - I was just so bummed about it I had to share. On a happy note, here is FI's ring:

  • Wow
glad you got a good deal on fiances ring. Do you mind me asking what you ended up paying for it? That looks similar to one my FI wants

    sorry about the side stone
im paranoid bceause i have tons of pave stones in my setting.. and i am ALWAYS afraid fo that

whenever i am in the mall, usually every few months- i just go into any random jewelry store nad ask them to check if anything is "loose"
mine as well have them check the rest of your stones too! I've heard this happening when its resized

ive been attempting to lose weight but swear i am gaining it in my fingers
my ring is actually TIGHTER now
so im going to try to really get onthe weight track-- i dont want to have to resize it bigger, than smaller again!

  • Awe I'm like glad you got it re sized and got his bad, but I feel bad that, that happened and it might be a while till you get it back. :/

Hope it goes quicker than what they say
  • Thank guys...FI called on it today to get a better ETA on when we get my ring back. Since it's not my fault I sorta feel like they should rush the heck out of it but....who knows...

Jennifer - the ring was originally $249.99 plus tax. Supposedly they guarentee it and it's Tungsten Carbine (sp?) so it's unbreakable. FI works in the auto industry so we wanted something that is pretty durable. I guess if he gets scratches on it they will either buff them out or replace the ring. Here is the link.

If you go onto their website I think they have a $50 off your purchase of $300 or more for creating an account or something so it might be worth checking out! HTH's!
