It's all long-distance from here on

Originally, FI and I were going to get married, go on our honeymoon, and move halfway across the country ALL IN ONE MONTH. However, we've decided it would be less stressful to just move next month (trying not to hyperventilate omg so soon). So after June, I'll be planning a wedding from 1,000 miles away.
Any wedding planning tips from long-distance brides? Any moving tips in general? I've spent my whole life in the same county, so I have no idea how to move more than 30 miles.

Re: It's all long-distance from here on

  • Hi Peanut! I'm planning from across an ocean (wedding in Baltimore, but I live in London). By this point, I'm assuming you've done all the biggies in person- have your venue, your food, your cake, etc. Everything else can be easily sorted via Skype and email.

For me, what's been most helpful is having a long-distance calling plan & having a house in MD to ship things to (my mother's). I find a veil I like online? Buy in USD and ship to her house, so it will be waiting for me when wedding-time comes. Things like that.

Are you going to be able to come back to your hometown for a week or so before the wedding? That can be your time to get the last little details ironed out. Other than that, planning from a distance isn't too different from planning at home, really. Everything will be great! I hope that helps (:
