Friend as Officiant....What to Gift?

Hey Ladies,

So a friend of ours is officiating the ceremony! Which is really exciting, but I'm not sure what to get him as a gift. He is a huge sports fan, so I looked into some football tickets, but they don't go on sale until a week or so before the wedding. There's baseball, but after the wedding there are only a few games left before playoffs... DMB which his fav is playing in town 2 months before the wedding ugh... I don't want to get him a flask, or typical groomsmen type gift... maybe a jersey? What do you all think? I'm really good friends with his wife, but I kinda wanted to surprise him, and I don't know if she would tell him or not! If purchasing tickets I will have to let her know so I can make sure their schedule is clear I guess... but what are all of your thoughts?

What about a night out gift? You could purchase them a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants. Maybe even movie tickets or something like that they would be interested in. If it is something like that, without a said date, it would be easier on their schedules. If they hav kids, maybe you and FI could watch them for the night when they went out. This is most likely what we will do for our officiant, as they are my best friends parents.
