sam's club (walmart) sheet cake?

too tacky?

personally, i have had a lot of icky professional cakes. buttercream either tastes like pure powder sugar or whipped cream without the vanilla taste. ick!

it was mentioned to me that sam's now offers an actually tier wedding cake too. thought about buying 1 sheet cake and 1 of these 3-tier cakes. guest list 75.

most of my money is invested in the dinner food.

My cakes are coming from Sam's Club. I don't know about yours but the clubs around here don't offer tiered cakes. What they have are just 10" round cakes, and you can stagger them on different cake stands. That's how I decided to do it because it was just cheaper (around here, each 10" cake costs 12.80 apiece). If you have about 75 people who will show up, either do 4 of those round cakes or have three round cakes and a half sheet in the back. Hope this helps! :)

i've decided to just not tell people where the cakes are from. they probably won't even know!

Go ahead and use them! Sam's Club cakes are yummy and your guests will never know.

I'm getting my cake from a local grocery store (Publix) because they are delicious and affordable!

Keep in mind that a 10" round, 8" round and 6" round will feed 70 people (using industry standard 1" x 2" x 4" cake slice).  So, you may only have to order the tier cake.
