a few things

First of all, I would really like to hear your opinion on what you think of this: I am having a destination wedding in April - most likely in Florida with about 26 or less close family and friends as guests. Then we are planning a huge reception/party here in Toledo in June of 2010. So my question is . . . Can I wear my wedding dress to the reception here?  I don't know if it is tacky or not . . . I want our reception to really feel like people just came from a wedding - cake, dancing, centerpieces . . .  everything that a regular reception would have. So what do you think? Can I wear my wedding dress there too? Also, any advice on dealing with self-absorbed family members while planning a wedding? I've been with my fiance for 10 years now and we just got engaged and are getting married - I've been waiting for this for the last 8 years of my life and I have someone in my life who is trying to get ALL of the attention. Throwing fits, talking behind my back, etc - and the CRAZY part is, I haven't done anything wrong. I am including EVERYONE in all the activities (even though there is NO wedding party). Any advice - this stress is really starting to get to me and all I want to do is just have a happy engagement and marry the man I love . . .

Here are my opinions. 1) You can absolutely wear your dress to the reception!! I'm sure everyone will want to see you in it and it's a perfect reason to get more than one day's wear out of it! :) 2) Ignore him/her. You don't need that kind of negativity surrounding this exciting time in your life. If that person never has anything nice to say, then don't talk to them about wedding stuff anymore, period. And if they're talking behind your back, just ignore that too - let them be petty and childish. Keep your chin up and be happy! :)

of course u can wear ur dress! unlike the rest of us, u have a second opportunity to wear it again while we get to watch ours collect dust in the closet after wearing it once! (lol) and as for that family member, dont let ANYTHING or ANYONE damper ur fairytale for WHATEVER reason! one thing i was taught in marriage counseling (which i reccomend everyone to take) is that NOT everyone is happy 4 u! ignore those who arent and embrace those who are! best wishes!
