Temperature was our number 1 deciding factor!

We knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony, but we didnt want a sweaty bridal party.  So that ruled out June - August.  Outdoor ceremonies in Ohio rule out November - March.  We were engaged in July '08 and didn't really start planning until August and I worried about bring rushed to plan a spring wedding.  Fall it is!  I got excited about fall foliage and the colors associated with this and decided on October.  We were originally going to go with 10/17, however, I had this fear that if it was a rough fall that maybe too many leaves would be down already.  I would rather have a lot of green in my pictures than bare dead looking trees in my pictures....

So 10/10 it was!  We ended up with fairly green trees in our pictures... but we totally lucked out in the fact that we ended up with the best Saturday in October in terms of weather!

No significant reason.  Just knew we didn't want it during college football season and wanted it to be warm.  My good friend who looks for great wedding dates every year, really wanted us to do 9/10/11 but we didn't want to wait that long (and college football..).  So, she picked this one for us.

I really wanted an October wedding.  Autumn is my favorite season and I love the weather, colors, smells, everything!  But my oldest boy lives with his dad in TN, so I wanted a time when I wouldn't have to worry about him not being here.

We loved the idea of a July 4th wedding: The kids are always home with me and there would always be a party on our anniversary!  But a lot of our family couldn't get off the Monday after...so we picked July 3rd instead.  Close enough...and sometimes we get fireworks on the 3rd too!!!  :)

We really wanted a late May/early June wedding, so it would take place after I graduated, but the weather wouldn't be too hot yet (hopefully).  We really wanted late May, but the last weekend was Memorial Day (and we didn't want to kill anyone's whole holiday weekend) and the week before was too close to graduation.  SO, the first Saturday in June it was!

I've always wanted a late fall/ winter wedding.  But being Ohio we didn't want there to be a bad snow storm so we kept it early.  It's two weeks after Halloween and two weeks before Thanksgiving and the holiday rush.

5/22/10 We wanted an outdoor wedding and I wanted to wait until after graduation. We chose this date because our reception venue was available.

We both decided we wanted a September wedding in hopes that Ohio weather wouldn't be too cruel. We didn't want labor day weekend and didn't want 9/11, so we decided on 9/18.

This date is the day before out 8 year anniversary!

Also,we wanted a long engagement so that I would not have to plan a wedding while I was finishing up my Master program, but now it is becoming unbearable to wait for.
