Workout Accountability: Thursday

Morning Ladies!

Stretch x went well last night, I already did much better at it than earlier this week.  Today is yoga, which I'm going to do this morning because our entire company is closed for a countrywide volunteer day.  Our location is serving pizza for lunch, which was sweet of them to provide, but I'm really sort of glad I'm lactose intolerant because I can use that as my reason for bringing my own healthy lunch.

I'm in a really good mood this morning because I finally busted through the plateau, (which is really weird timing because, well, tmi but it's that time of the month this weekend, and typically I'm up a lb or two and super bloated at this point.  Weird.)  Saturday also starts week five and I'm really happy to be pushing onto phase two.

How are you all doing this AM? Stay cool today ladies!

Re: Workout Accountability: Thursday

  • Down 2 lbs from last week! Woot woot!  It feels good to have downward progress :)

I'm in debate about exercise today.  In another TMI moment - I just had my IUD placed yesterday and am kind of crampy.  I'd LIKE to go exercise, but I'm uncomfortable and not sure if I should.  We'll see how the day goes.

I'm going to spoil myself with a not-so-healthy breakfast this morning, then get back on track this afternoon.  I've been really conscientious about food this week and want to give myself a mini-break so that I don't get worn out.  Tomorrow's supposed to be cheat day, but since I'm giving in this morning it'll probably be another cheat meal, and then back on the wagon!  Now that I see progress I just want it to keep going!

And congrats from breaking through your plateau Lobster!!
  • Morning!

Last night I had a meeting with the wedding planner and knew I would not have time to work out so I had a good food plan but the GF cupcake from yesterday threw me off-also I noticed that since I rarely eat refined sugar anymore that 1 cupcake really upset my tummy, I felt bloated and generally ill for the rest of the day from it.

Tonight is either Pump night or Spin night not sure which class I want to do yet.

Lobsters-I totally feel you on using the allergy thing! my gluten intolerance has saved me from countless baked good office snacks and all kinds of crap I dont need to eat regardless of allergies. Congrats on breaking the plateau too!! thats huge!

  • Congrats on the breakthrough Lobsters!!

I have been slacking on exercise this week, but have eaten really well, so it's balanced a little bit.  I'm going to do cardio during my lunch break.  And I brought my resistance band to get some reps in throughout the day in my cube.  It's just me in the office today so it's nice and quiet!

</div><div>Kudos to you for even CONSIDERING working out after getting the IUD placed! I was barely able to move for like 2 days. I think you're definitely allowed to take a break :)</div><div>
</div><div>Yesterday I got to walk with co-workers in the afternoon. Normally on break there are 15-20 people out walking the track, but yesterday it was just us (obviously it's been extremely hot and humid). I'm glad I pushed myself to do it, even though it made me sweaty for the rest of work.</div><div>
</div><div>When I got home I did 75 minutes of light cardio on my bike.</div><div>
</div><div>Tonight I've committed myself to doing a zumba class with a co-worker. I'm still intimidated by the idea of a group class, but I'm glad that I have someone to go with me! Now I HAVE to do it!

Woooo nice job lobsters!! I love busting through a plateu!

Congrats on the 2 lb loss Windsor!

So I was so mad at myself for not getting up yesterday I tried to run when I got home from work with FI. Epic fail. We made it 1.6 miles before we decided to stop because it was like 98 degrees out. I was just kicking myself so bad for not working out I was trying to get it in. Oh well, 1.6 miles is better than 0 I guess.

This morning I went to spin class. Was an awesome class today. I definitely really pushed myself. Tonight I have a family dinner with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc, etc. The works. I checked the menu to where we are going tonight and it doesnt look all that healthy. I'm kind of nervous so I will just have to do my best to pick the best option. Sometimes I hate going out to eat for that reason. It's so much harder to track your calories and eat clean.

    Happy Thursday everyone!

  • Hi everyone.  Feeling better and more motivated today, probably due to a 1.5 lb loss on the scale this morning.

Last night I did a weights class at the gym, and also got in my 10,000 steps due to a long trip to Lowe's last night for some planting supplies and various other things.  Stayed within my calories as well.

Woke up weirdly early this morning, as did FI, so we took a quick 1.5 mile walk around the neighborhood, knowing it was going to be waaaay too hot to do it later.  I"ll probably try to do some laps around the (inside) of the building at lunch today, but that'll be it for exercise.  Dinner out w/ a friend tonight, so need to be prefect, food-wise, before that.
  • Back, bis and cardio this morning followed by a 3 mile run. I'm starting to improve with the running and although it was only a weekly challenge, I might keep up on it rather than using the elliptical at the gym.
  • Morning everyone! It's almost Friday!

Yesterday I made good on my word and went out for a run, thank god! I felt so much better after getting out and getting some exercise... not that 4 days off from exercise kills anyone physically, but it really makes me feel guilty! So I did a slow 5K that my legs aren't thanking me for today. They thought they were on perma-vacation.

Today I'll walk the dog and maybe go for a bike ride after work. I usually work evenings so working in the day kind of throws my exercise schedule out of wack, but I'll make it work. Food will stay on track and all will be happy in the world!

Have a good day everyone :)

@ Lobsters - congrats on breaking through the plateau. That's a great feeling!
@ Everyone - still jealous of your nice weather. June sucks in Alberta. You get one nice day for every 10 days of thunderstorms.

  • The heat makes me not want to do anything but hide in my room with the a/c on.  We went to the mall yesterday and walked for about two hours or so.  Not a super amazing workout, but it burned some calories.  My gym is often too warm, so I'm afraid to go right now.  I might go there tonight after class, at like 10pm, if I still have the energy.  Otherwise, I'll go tomorrow and just suck it up and drink a lot of water.

  • Congrats Windosr and Lobster.

Yesterday was a much better food day for me.   Today I will be biking home from work - I biked in on Tuesday but got a ride home.   I walked to the bus this morning and will be doing yard work this evening for some extra activity.

  • Sarah: After living in Calgary for 4 years I know exactly what you are talking about with the cold weather, my family in ontario were swimming in the lake while I was still wearing a winter jacket to work!  I hope it warms up for you soon!

  • Last night I made it through 30 min. of elliptical but I sort of pigged out on some cinnamon raisin bread FI made. I told myself I wouldn't eat any today... and then after doing 30DS this morning, I devoured another couple slices.

    Ugh.

Even though it's 100 degrees here, I'm heading out for a walk before class. One good thing about taking classes is I can't EAT my way through them!  Stay cool, everyone.

Haha then you DEFINITELY know what I'm talking about! I'm in Red Deer, and I have some family in Kanata who are always able to enjoy that great weather much before us!
