Getting in Shape

Help!

I am down to almost 50 days until the wedding and it seems to have snuck up on me. Easter totally threw me off the fitness wagon I was on...full steam ahead. I feel awful, and getting really nervous if I will have enough time to lose the last 10lbs before the big day.
Any great workout plans would be much appreciated!

Re: Help!

  • Stop, breathe and relax :) Are you drinking lots of water? Eating lots of fruits, veggies, and watching your sodium intake? Those are all things to consider too, not just a hardcore workout plan.

What types of exercises/workouts do you like to do?
  • I know this is going to seem ridiculous but if you are only drinking a few water bottles a day your body is retaining that water and probably making you feel bloated.  I aim for at least 8-9 water bottles a day and instead of snacking at night just down a water bottle before bed, it makes you feel much lighter in the morning which is much more motivating! Also....cabbage soup is easy to make and lasts for a few days, spice it up with chipotle seasonings or red cayenne....Low-fat string cheese is a good snack and keeping small bags of raw unsalted almonds with you at all times.  I have recently found out that I have celiac's disease (gluten intolerance) and cutting out all breads and crackers and flours has helped tremendously...instead of a sandwhich I go for a lettuce wrap! Hope this helps:) Good luck you will look gorgeous regardless!

Try working out 3 days a week at least, and you need 30 minutes of cardio to burn any fat (3 years of varsity cross country) and use lighter weights for leaner muscle!!! Just walking for an hour is a great exercise:)

  • Thanks guys! I am feeling much better about myself today! Whew yesterday was a doozy. I drink at least a gallon of water a day. I do better during the week because I can actually force myself to drink large amounts of water all day. Weekends are a different story, I forget to drink and end up choosing the wrong foods because Im really just thirsty and not hungry.

I play on a Walleyball team one night a week for about 3 hours we play, and I do interval sprints on the treadmill 3-5 times a week. Been so busy, there is not much more time for anything else. If the weather would ever cooperate in Ohio maybe I could actually start jogging outside like I susually do in the spring/summer months.

I try to stay away from carbs, I focus on alot of raw veggie, fruit, and try to eat fish once a week. Cheese is my weakness however! I am integrating the laughing cow cheese squares instead of my few cubes every evening...

I just needed the pep talk to get me back on the wagon!!
  • Glad you are feeling better!!!! You sound incredibly busy and motivated!!!! Everyone has those days:)
