Getting in Shape

Workout Accountability: Wednesday

Morning All!

Yoga was pretty half-hearted yesterday because I lost the DVD, but I did what I could.  I'm going into the office late so I can take my car in for an estimate, so I'll get to do both workouts this morning, which is really nice.  Today is cardio, and legs/back/abs.  I can't believe I'm almost at the end of phase two already-this program is flying by!

Healthy eating has been on track, minus a few extra cheerios when I got gnoshy last night.  I'm hoping to pick up some salmon on my way back from work today, too; I really need to get more fish back in my weekly routine.

How is everyone doing today?

  • Morning!

yesterday was a good day-food was on target and did a spin class, I really pushed the resistance so I feel it today. back tonight for more spin.

    happy day all!

  • Good morning! Yesterday was really good eating, I even treated myself to having just one spoonful of peanut butter as a snack instead of two, but adding in a few chocolate chips. It was awesome. This morning was the first time in over a month that I actually had to talk myself out of bed to get to class. And then talk myself into running when I got home. But I did both, although the run was shorter than normal. AND, I'm down 10 pounds total, which is more than halfway to goal. I've decided that when I get there I'm treating myself to a spa day and a new pair of expensive jeans. I have gift cards for both that I've been sitting on since Christmas.
  • Zero - spa day and new jeans sounds like the perfect reward for hard work! I'm jealous :)

Yesterday I went on a walk with co-workers in the afternoon and got 35 minutes on my bike after work. I guess not eating enough on Monday caught up with me though because I was sooo hungry all day yesterday. Ended up going slightly over on my calories for the day (i'm not going to be hard on myself for it though).

This morning my legs are really sore, I think the Body Combat class finally caught up to them. I'm hoping I can gently stretch them out throughout the day so that gym time later tonight doesn't suffer.

  • Hi Ladies!

Yesterday was a good eating day.  I ended up with a lot of exercise which was good, so I got a lot to eat I guess.  I went to the gym and had a good weight and bike workout.  Then, I was sick of the mess at home so I spent an hour moving furniture around at home.  I'm super tired today.  I tried to go to bed early, but now that FI and I are living together I've been up late and was again last night.  Then I had a crying fest over my new office at work and being the new person, even though it's the same job, just in a different office.  So I got to bed really late.  I feel foggy now.  At least the bags under my eyes weren't bad.  Hope you ladies have a great day!

  • Zero - Congrats on the weight loss!!!!

Fluffernut - Sorry you were upset. Is the new place not working out?

I've been really on track with my eating this week so I'm really happy with that. This morning I did 4 miles on the treadmill in 36:47. This is the first time ever in my life I have ran 4 miles and I didn't take any walking breaks!

Thanks Maribeth.  The new place is fine, it's just the adjustment of everything.  A condo with too much stuff we are trying to combine, changing work location, changing coworkers, moving from a rural area to the cities, just everything all at once.

On the plus side, I had my first facial on Monday night and it was lovely and my skin liked it!

  • I hear you - I am moving into FI's place in a couple of weeks. I have been slowly bringing stuff there. But it is really stressful! We both have way too much stuff and his house is not very big so I'm running out of room to put it all! lol. He lives on the other side of the city so my routine will really be changing. Stressful.

The facial sounds amazing!! I would love to get one sometime.

  • My dad's having surgery tomorrow so I splurged and took him out for ice cream last night.  I had a small strawberry sundae which, in the grand scheme of things, probably isn't too horrible for me (especially since I ate well all day yesterday).

I'm still super sore in my hips/thighs/knees so I'm going to do some weights for my arms today and take an afternoon yoga class.

  • Congrats on the halfway mark!!  Nothing like new clothes to treat yourself!

We had a super healthy dinner, no starches last night.  I decided to try that for a change, based on a co-workers recommendations.  So we had BBQ pork loin (about 4-5 oz), BBQ corn on the cob (no butter or sauces) then I stir fried a few veggies so at least that wasn't so bland (had about 1 cup each of veggies).  We were full, but not that yummy carb full :(  We went for a hour and a half long hike with my friend and her hubby and today I am store in the hip/groin somehow.  They want to do another long hike tomorrow evening which will be killer.  Good way to end the week before our rest period.

She DID decide to bake before we went up so I had a raisin tea biscuit, but they were small and low calorie, about 200 calories.  So I got my yummy carb in anyway :)  They are trying to do the healthy thing too, and plus I just couldn't be rude and turn it down, lol

  • Haven't worked out yet, but did check in on the Wii for weight and all that. It went up again -.- My back is super stiff and sore (not from working out though I don't think) and I didn't sleep well again last night, was not happy to see the + show up on the screen ;p  Drinking more water today.  Last night I really wanted seconds of dinner, but instead I had a dessert flavored light yogurt, and it worked, I wasn't wanting to munch anymore!  Will hop on the Wii for exercise once the FI is out of bed and doing schoolwork.

  • Morning ladies Zero sounds like a good reward. mari &Fluff I understand the pain of moving. We just moved into our new house in May. This was about 6 months after we combined households. We had so much crap to get rid of and then so much stuff to buy. It's never ending Today I got up and went swimming. First time in almost a year. After my Tris last year I was burned out from swimming so I stopped. This also was the cause of some of my weight gain. I was still eating like I was training but not burning the calories. Tonight's going to be tough we are going to a wine tasting with friends after work. Must refrain from drinking too much.

Was low on cals yesterday so I'm going to up them a bit today which should be hard since we're going out for dinner tonight. I'm already feeling the hunger bug waving over me and I just finished breakfast. Aye!

  • Yesterday I went over my daily calories because expected to go rock climbing in the afternoon but my climbing partner bailed on me and I didnt feel up to doing another workout. I then was even worse and went out for dinner since my cousin is in town.

Today is looking good though! Did insanity this morning and rock climbing is rescheduled for today so looking forward to that!

  • Yesterday I ended up at exactly the cal count that MFP recommended. That has to be a good sign, right? I was proud of myself for avoiding unhealthy snacks and managed to have Panera for dinner. I was so tempted to get the UPick2 combo with my fav sandwhich at 380 calories, but I talked myself into a slightly less tasty 260 calorie sandwich and avoided going over.

Hopefully that scale will move by next weigh in on Monday.

  • I fell off the wagon a while back, but now I'm here and I've started a new workout routine :)

    Insanity....its insane. Really, it is.

I'm not a big sweat-er but I'm drenched after every workout (on day 3 so far). Its a killer while working out but feeling good about myself afterwards. :)

  • I haven't been to the gym yet today, but I'll be there around 5:30 or so this evening.  Today I'm getting back on the elliptical to see if my arms will let me use them for it again.  My elbows still bother me off and on if I hold my arms wrong, but I can straighten them again without pain.  Who knew that straightening my arms out would be something to celebrate.  :)
If my arms cooperate, tonight I'll use the elliptical for 35 mins and then do arm strength.  I'm cutting back the sets from 3 to 2 in an effort to keep from reinjuring myself.

I spent this morning at the Museum of Natural History on a class trip with a pre-k.  I'm doing my fieldwork hours in the classroom, so I count as an extra set of hands to keep the student:adult ratio low.  My feet are killing me after being there for about 3 hours.

Well, I'm off to a meeting then the gym and target.  Have a good evening everyone!

I have hayfever too...Zyrtec works for me but makes me drowsy so I will try the Claritin.
  • Ok first it was over 100 degrees, now it's rain. When will I be able to walk?! Ugh! Trying to get my eating back on track since I had the "bug" this weekend. I have been waaayyy below my calorie intake. S/N A coworker gave me a baggie of cherries she got on sale at Harris Teeter....omg they are so good, I almost ate the whole thing!
  • Happy Hump Day to everyone!

Maribeth--Congrats on running 4 miles without walking!

Sarah--You are training for a 10K? Me too!! What plan are you using?

My regular yoga teacher was out last night and her sub totally sucked (anyone else have that problem? I've decided its all about the instructor!!!) so class was just so-so...but I did go to Spin this morning with my fave instructor, so that made up for it!

My co-worker's last day is tomorrow so we had Mexican food for lunch! I had a veggie taco and some beans...didn't finish my meal but those tortilla chips always kill me!! LOL
  • Had a healthy food day and got an hour workout in tonight. 40 min. of running and 20 of walking. My legs are exhausted. Tomorrow morning is my three week weigh-in/measurements/pinch test with my trainer - so I've been working pretty hard. I get to take Friday and Saturday off from working out and AM SO EXCITED! Just have to get through one more training session tomorrow morning!

  • this is my first accountability check in and strangely I'm really excited about it lol.

Had a nice healthy food day and didn't come home starving which was nice, getting used to this healthy stuff. I didn't do my 30min walk on Tues (got home at 8:45pm and was BURNT OUT so I passed out) so FI took it upon himself to become my fitness conscience and we did a 1hr walk last night! We just moved into our new place so we walked around the neighborhood to checkout the restaurants and such around. At first when we left I told him there was no way in hell I was walking for an hour, but that rascally rabbit got me b/c when I called for a time check it had been 40mins already and we were 20mins from the house lol. I love him for that, he's been so supportive and encourages me everyday and at this early stage of the game it's such a great help :-)
