Getting in Shape

Running for Noob

I grew up in a house with 4 heavy smokers and even as a child would be left panting after only a short distance. I have the c25k ap but once I finish the 3rd run I am about to fall off the treadmill because I cannot catch my breath in the 90 seconds in between. I need more like 10 minutes. I still have not finished day 1 ever. I really want to run and my legs and body can handle it, but my lungs are holding me back. Heck, I can walk at nearly 4mph, but the second I start running I stop breathing. Tips, ideas?
