Workout Accountability: Thursday

Morning ladies!

Doubles went well yesterday, as did eating and the car estimate (over 2k-thank goodness for insurance!)  Sadly, the weekend weight loss stopped at the same number I've plateaued at before, and I'm worried I'm going to have to bust through this number with as much trouble as I now have twice before (it took almost two weeks each of those times.)  I really don't want to fall that far behind in my progress by doing this again.

Today is kenpo, and hopefully salmon for dinner (if I can convince myself to get to the grocery.)  It's the last real workout day of phase two, before next week's recovery week.  I can't believe how quickly this is going!

  • Lobsters, I'm glad things are turning around!

    I've been a GIS slacker recently. Last weekend I was in VT with FI's parents and I overdid it. His mom is an awesome baker and well.... I didn't resist the way I should have. And I feel like when I get in a cycle of eating crap, I have trouble breaking out of it.

    I've been sticking with 30 DS and cardio, and last night softball, too, but I need to get my butt in gear with eating sensibly. This morning I was supposed to do 30DS and I'm just too tired. I'm planning to get in a serious trip to the gym tonight and I have a healthy meal plan for the day.

  • Lobsters -- YAY for good news! :)

    Yesterday was day 8 of the 30 shred, ate well till the end of the day.  After dinner had a headache and was grumpy, so before bed when I was packing lunch I found some cookies from FIs grandmother and scarffed two.  Felt soooo good.

    This morning I forgot to set an alarm so I got up an hour late, no work out this morning.  Weight/cardio class tonight and a lunch time walk.  Fingers crossed for a fabulous day of eating.

    Quick question:  what does everyone eat for calories in a day?  My trainer has been playing with mine lately and she wants to push them up ... but the number she would like me at seems too high.

  • Sunrise - MFP tells me 1540 (that's a 750 calorie deficit), but I obviouisly eat more than that on days I workout. Everyone is going to be different, the # is dependent on your current weight, how tall you are, and how much you want to lose.

    Last night was a gym night for me. Actually managed to convince FI to come along (even though he looked miserable). I wasn't feeling very motivated myself and was already hungry for dinner, so I only got 35 minutes of elliptical in and then some quick weightlifting for my arms (I feel like I've been slacking on weightlifting a lot lately). We got lebanese sandwiches for dinner and they were sooo good - though I somehow still ended up at less than 1200 net calories for the day :-\

  • Morning!  I did a Bodysculpt class at my new gym last night, and I want to die today.  We did about 17 million walking lunges, and my legs are so sore today I wouldn't be surprised if they were still a little sore Saturday.  Next class I try is a class that's supposed to be similar to BodyPump.  I'm excited.

  • So exhuasted went to class yesturday. Today instead of a run I get to go to the rheumatologist before my trip. As if the scheduled errands, 2 dental appointments, and hair cut weren't enough with a half day of work. Le Sigh

    Went to spin last night but I am coming down with something nasty and only made it half way through the class before I couldnt stay any longer. Fingers crossed its not bronchitis!

  • Entropic -- I was at 1700, but have been at the same place for a month, so she dropped me to 1600, but is now talking about 1800.  I'm 5'6 and would like to drop 20 before my wedding in 11 weeks.  She's worried my body in going into stravation mode ... so we need it to not think that anymore

  • Went to help the guys on a job site yesterday afternoon and didnt get home till 9:30. So I sweated my butt off but didn't really get my heart rate up. Did well on my eating except for maybe too much sugar..

  • I decided to do a rest day today. I think I've been pushing it a little too much because I've been exhausted this week. H and I were supposed to hang out tonight but he was asked to work, so I'm debating whether or not to still do my cheat meal.

    <div>Is that how much you're eating after exercise? If you're burning 500+ calories in an exercise session and then only eating 1600 calories, then that WOULD be putting you in starvation mode. I would listen to what your PT is saying, they're professionals and should know what will work for you. Worst case scenario? If you go up at all on the scale you can decrease your calories again.</div>

  • Good morning, Ladies!

    I had my 3 week (a little less than 3 – but close enough) check-in this morning with my trainer before our session and a little under 3 weeks I have lost 6.2 lbs and went from  29.5% body fat to 27.3%! Whoohoo! J I’m excited! I’m only 4 lbs away from my original goal of losing 10 lbs in 10 weeks – so next week we are going to reevaluate my goals. Tomorrow I head back to MN for a wedding planning weekend and I get to take the weekend off from food journaling (but I still need to eat appropriately but can have some treats) and working out (just need to get some walking in). My body is so ready for this break and I am looking forward to it.

    To the poster who asked about calories – I’ve been eating about 1200 and cut out all grains and most carbs. I eat 4-5 small meals a day, mostly high protein (eggs, protein shakes, string cheese, apples, nuts, Greek yogurt with granola and berries, etc.). I’m only doing this for a limited amount of time while I reduce my body fat %. Next week, my calories are going up since I dropped so quickly and in a couple of weeks we will begin to incorporate healthy carbs back into my diet and change to building muscle instead of trying to maintain it while I lose fat. I do have a “treat” every 2-3 days which range from a glass of wine and pizza to ice cream. As long as I isolate the treat to that one meal – my body has bounced back really well.

    @turtleslove - What sort of job site? Sounds like my life....I am going to help FI and crew out on a jobsite tonight by painting a door, planting flowers, ect. Not exactly exercise, along I supposed shoveling a wheelbarrow full of dirt will count for something....

    I did really well on calories yesterday and came in under my goal. I make tilapia with just a little olive oil and seasoning for dinner, along with a small sweet potato with very small bits of butter and sugar, and a new swiss chard recipe. I also remembered to bring along some celery and carrot sticks to snack on during the day.  Eating the same breakfast and lunch and snack today, so hopefully I won't do to bad. Dinner is probably going to be take-out though, so hopefully I can just have a small sandwich or something so I don't blow it.

    Workout was not great yesterday, I had planned 20 with my netflix workout, but the internet went down. I did what I could remember of the routine, but it definitely wasn't the same.

  • well.... didn't get around to working out yeterday as planned.  Instead spent the whole day with the FI and job hunting, which was stressing me out, and I had spaghetti for lunch.  Not a ton because it honestly wasn't that good, but it was enough, the scale was up almost two pounds from yesterday -.-  We've had a big front move through, and I'm SO grateful for the cooler temps, but it's been making my knee act up and that means taking it kinda slow.  And probably wearing shoes when I workout ;p  Was so disappointed in that number, I've gone up a little every day this week then a big jump. I'm tempted to measure but it's too soon :/

  • @Entropic -- my BMR is 1650 and I try to burn 500-700/day.  I've just been stuck on one number for like a month or so. Want to see it go down and down and down some more.  

    @Marston -- the cookie TOTALLY did the trick, followed immediately by 9 hours of sleep :)

  • Today is going to be a rest day by necessity - I just can't fit a workout into my schedule today.  I need to make sure to get one in tomorrow.

    Yesterday I went shopping and was very excited to have to go down a size in the dresses I was trying on.  I have been about a size 12 and they were too big.  Had to go down to a 10.  A tiny success but I am very pleased about it.

    Hi All!

    Dawn- Congrats on the size drop! Thats always fun when the clothes are too big :)

    I swam again yesterday for 30 minutes, in this heat the pool is definitely keepiing me motivated so I'm not melting! Yesterday we took the day off to get wedding stuff done and went to a flea market for the afternoon so lots of walking yesterday. Eating wasn't as great with the flea market, but I walked most of it off and then swam before dinner.

    Today was an early work day and dinner with one of my bridesmaids tonight means no working out today. Eating will be good though and I'm getting a steak with steamed veggies at the restaurant so all in all not bad!

    One more work day, we can do it!!!
  • Way to go to the ladies who are seeing such great results!!

    I took the night off from exercise, but weighed today and MFP tells me I'm down 10.2 pounds total!  I will take that!  It's been slow, but I am not as strict with myself as I should be, so I was very happy!

  • Hey everyone!

    Last night after going out for dinner with FI's family (yum, and not over my calories - I even had dessert!) FI and I went on a bike ride. According to my training plan, this week on Wednesday I was supposed to do 30 minutes of easy cross training - mainly just to stay active.

    Well, turns out that my bike tires were pretty flat.. unfortunately I realized that was the problem when we were 15 minutes from home. When those tires are flat it makes biking SO much harder. It felt like my quads were cement by the time I got home. I'm hoping that doesn't affect my run tonight much, but I feel like it might. *Sigh* Not to mention my butt hurts like crazy. Rolling over in bed last night was a chore! So much for "easy cross training".

    Today I'm just supposed to do 2 miles and some deep stretching, so hopefully that goes well tonight after work! It's been so hot that I just don't care and I am going to go at 10:30 at night. At least I'll be able to run without passing out.

  • Good morning - almost afternoon!! 

    Yesterday was a pretty awful eating day. We were supposed to have some engagement pictures taken but it was raining, so I canceled, and then ended up just gorging and eventually having a few beers after dinner. Stress is dumb.

    Woke up early without an alarm this morning though, so far I have gotten a good start to the day eating, and went for a run because the rain made it much cooler. Somehow, ran 3 miles at the fastest speed I've recorded in the past few months (I use Runkeeper GPS). Hooray!

  • Ok, got in my workout even though I really didn't want to ;)  Got on the Wii, reduced my run time at least, "ran" a mile in under 6 and a half minutes, that at least seems to be improving a bit each day.  I feel like as much as I dispise it, I need to find my Ab Ripper disc... 

    It's amazing outside, high of 77 (YEAH!) but kinda stuck in the house, wish we could go hiking today, it's perfect for it..

    Yesterday was ok, I was under my calories since I did Insanity and rock climbing but I had panda express for dinner so wasnt eating very clean.

    Today my joints are sore from insanity but I still wanted to get a workout in this morning so I did Braillian butt lift with my mom and after I got past how ridiculous the guy was it was fun.

    Hoping to go rock climbing again this afternoon and eat better today.

  • Today was an off day for me since my dad had surgery this morning.  I might convince FI to go for a walk with me after dinner tonight, though.  I was so sore last night and he gave me a full body massage so I feel sooooo much better today, aside from some soreness in my lower abs/groin area.

  • Just want to wish you ladies luck with eating and exercising this weekend. We are off to NY in the morning for a wedding and I wont be back till Monday so limited time for me here.

    I will be on doctored ordered R&R so other than light swimming and a slow long run there will be limited anything for me for the next 5 days(these two workouts may even get canceled). I went in last minute today due to some sudden signs things werent right and was told to rest on my vacation.

    So ladies have a wonderful weekend!

    FI family business is garage doors, but they were putting in doors and dock levelers for some new constrution. I was cutting steel, haning light fixtures, pre-drilling holes in the concrete and other fun stuff that make me rememeber why I worked hard to get an inside job ;)

    We are having fish and sweet potatoes tonight as well! IF he ever gets home...
