Workout Accountability: Friday

TGIF!

How is everyone this morning?  Weather is still gross here - it's 80 at 6:20am.

Yoga went pretty well yesterday, as did eating.  FI treated me to frozen yogurt after our pre-marital counseling session, so I made sure to get a kid sized non fat as I knew it would push me over my calories.  Thankfully no scale gain!

Today is a rest day, but I might try to do a bit of the stretch workout and go for a leisurely swim in the complex pool before dinner at my moms.  
This weekend is going to be a rough one for eating because my birthday is on Monday, so we're celebrating with friends and family over the weekend.  FI is doing a great job of helping me plan our outings in places I can keep my calories in control, so I'm hoping Sunday (family dinner) will be the only night I splurge a little.

    Lobsters, Happy early birthday!! You have most definitely earned a splurge night with all the hard work you are doing!
    Last night was a gym night, but...I crapped out and didnt go, I was overheated and felt gross....bad excuse I ALWAYS feel better after the gym but just couldn't get motivated to get off my a$$ last night.
    Thankfully I have not gained any weight this week so far and i cleared my weekend up a bit so I will have time to hit the gym and make up some lost time.

    goal is to do my own cardio tonight and spin saturday and sunday

  • Morning ladies!

    I am TIRED today - TGIF!  I actually did 3 separate workouts yesterday.  I didn't intend to do it when I woke up, but it's just now it worked out.  I lifted legs in the am, went to lunchtime pilates, and then took zumba with my girlfriends last night.  

    This morning I lifted chest & did some abs.  I took spin too, but I took it really easy as my legs were exhausted & felt like lead.  Tomorrow is an off day for my "real" final fitting.

  • Happy Birthday Lobsters!  And Happy Friday all!

    So yesterday I did actually go to the gym and did a light 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I did higher resistance with low speed, which didn't really bother me while I was there.  Afterwards a little crampier, but I'm hoping it goes down in the next day or so.

    What was interesting was I had panera for breakfast yesterday - bagel with creamchesse and a strawberries and cream scone.  It was a reward for having done so well with eating, but it was breakfast I used to eat all the time.  I entered it into MFP and almost died when I saw how many calories and carbs it was together!!  835 calories, 119 carbs!!  And there were days I would eat that in the morning, get stuck at work and grab fast food (like McDs or Wendy's) on the way home!   No wonder I was packing on the tonnage.

    Today I'm going to take a break I think, and let myself recover a bit.  Tomorrow I've got a tough workout set that I'd like to not be crying for!

    Eating was good yesterday.  I don't understand why I'm not munching like normal, but I hope it continues!!  I was packing last night and had the music on so I was dancing.  But that, sadly, was the cardio for the day.  I did some resistance stuff this morning while I was getting ready, but hope to gym later.  It's been such a slacker week.  But yet, I was down on the scale to numbers I haven't seen in a LONG time.  I hope it's not because I'm losing muscle, but I fear it is.

  • Happy friday everyone!

    Yesterday I had an afternoon walk with co-workers, then after work I went to Zumba with one of my co-workers. I can't believe how hard zumba was for me! I'm working out almost every day and zumba made me out of breath. It was definitely a work out. It was definitely not my favorite thing ever, but I think I'm going to keep going once a week just for variety sake.

    After an hour of zumba, I hopped on the elliptical for another 30 minutes of cardio (to make up for my crappy gym day tuesday).

    Tonight I would like to make it to the gym and focus on upper body weightlifting and then maybe get a 45 minutes walk in on the treadmill.

    Happy Weekend!

    Did not to bad this week, down .4lbs. Not much but at least it's something. Now i'm down a total of 9.8lbs. Hoping to keep on track for the next three months.
  • Still hot here.  I've found most of my exercise this week has come from packing moving boxes, sweating it out in my house, walking around stores/malls with a/c and doing some ab/thigh work at night in the a/c in my bedroom.  I think I've *finally* figured out my stomach issues, and I've been less bloat-y this week.  I've been stagnant at this weight for awhile now and I'd love to go down at least 7 more pounds so I know I need to step it up.

  • Hi everyone.  Yesterday was ok....got in some walking during the day and in the evening, so met my steps goal for the day.  Waaaay overdid it at dinner though.   I eat out often enough that I really need to stop seeing it as a special occasion and opportunity to cheat.  Ugh!  Didn't get a drink though, so that was good.

    Very hot here again today, but I'm going to try for a walk or jog when I get home tonight anyways, or maybe a bike ride with FI, depending on his plans.   Hitting the mall tomorrow to shop for an outfit for engagement pics, so will get in some walking there, and hopefully can squeeze in a jog or bike ride also before we head to a birthday party in the evening. 
  • Hi everyone! 

    Yesterday was ok. It was a day off from the gym and we went out to dinner. I ordered the most delicious sounding thing on the menu (gourmet grilled cheese), but only ate half and ate grilled veggies instead of fries. I felt very victorious!

    This morning I hit the gym for an awesome class. Even though it is crazy hot here, I made myself go to the gym and it felt great. Ready for the weekend!!

  • Happy Early Birthday Lobsters!!

    I took some melatonin (sp?) last night to help me sleep since my mind has been racing at night and my eye started twitching yesterday, probably from lack of sleep and stress. I was so sound asleep I didn't wake up in time to work out. So today will probably end up being my rest day instead of Monday. My eye is still being twitchy though ah!

    Lobsters - happy birthday weekend!

    Yesterday I had a shorter than usual bike ride home.  Got stuck at a train crossing for about 10 minutes that put me way behind schedule so I had to take the short way home.  The problem with the short way is a very steep hill.  I biked about half of the hill and walked the other half.  One of these days I'll make it to the top without walking.  

    Did a bunch of yard work last night - weeding, trimming the lawn etc.   Very rewarding to get both exercise and have a pretty lawn again. 

    This morning FI and I went to the  gym.  I did an upper body workout for about 30 minutes.

  • Last night was my last class for the summer but someone brought in cookies and I scarfed the biggest one down. So, while I had just.been.bragging. that I can't eat my way through class, I found a way to do it. Bah!

    I have more motivation today, though. I crammed in 30 min. on the elliptical this morning and I ate egg whites for breakfast to up my protein. I've been drinking lots of water today and I had a nice salad for lunch. I'm also proudly resisting what remains of my coworkers black forest cherry cake in the fridge.

    Tonight we're getting a new bed so I'll be moving furniture around and tomorrow we're heading on a 6.6 mi. hike. It should be a good workout!

  • Hi everyone!I am only on here once every 2-3 days because I am on the road for work a few days each week and often don't have time to get on the computer.

    I was proud of myself on Wednesday. I was away from home all day and managed to meet my calorie goal and enjoy a hotdog at the ballpark. The $6 pricetag helped me decline, when my friend offered to get me an ice cream. Did not manage any exercise though because I got home so late.

    Yesterday was dinner at the Texas Roadhouse with FI grandparents (it's their favorite). I think I figured out our 2-3 times a month dinners with them may have been causing some of my weightgain!I knew the rolls were bad, but they are not big so I was not expecting 220 calories per roll + butter. I looked it up before I went yesterday and instead of my usual 2-3 rolls, I now knew to limit myself to 1 roll (and a bite of FI's). I chose my items on MyFitnessPal ahead of tiem so I would stick to them and meet my calorie goal for the day. Was very tired last night, but forced myself to at least do a 10 minute ab workout.

    This weekend we are going to a B+B overnight, but I am hoping the afternoon of kayaking will offset the big breakfast. We shall see...

  • Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

    Yesterday was a rest day, so I took the dog for a walk around the park. It actually turned out to be a beautiful day yesterday finally, so I wanted to spend some extra time outside. Last night FI and I went to watch "What to Expect When You're Expecting" - omg! Hilarious! I was proud of myself too - ate less than half of a small bag of popcorn with no butter on it and had a diet coke (I don't generally drink any pop anymore, but I will allow myself to have a diet coke as a treat here and there.. need to feel normal!). Stayed under my calorie goal for the day, even with the popcorn. Woot!

    Today I'm going to go running and then take the dog for a walk afterwards, and of course keep the eating on track. I have reversed the B&B/memorial damage from last weekend and now it's time to make a slight downward movement before tomorrow's weigh in. Let's hope!

  • I hid in the a/c until the rain hit and has since passed.  It's down to 78 here, from 95 earlier today.  I'm on my way out the door now to hit the gym.
