Ok so I have done the entire 30 day shred. 10 days of each level. I did 20 days in a row of level 1 and 2 then skipped around between walking and doing level 3 of the 30 day shred. It took a total of 45 days to do the entire thing.
I combined excerise with the WW diet plan and haven't seen any results. What the heck is wrong me with?? I tracked measurements and everything has stayed the same, I didn't even lose an inch :-(
Any advise or has anyone else experienced this? I have 5 months left until the wedding and need to at least drop 15 pounds at this point.
Re: 30 day shred disappointment.....
I'm also on WW. I never did DS right before a weigh in since I was always temporarily up the day of any workout with weights.

I'm a big fan of calories in calories out. Not sure how the WW points work but I just count my calories using an app on my phone (it even has a built in barcode scanner to input foods). For figuring out my daily caloric needs I calculate my BMR at sedentary level and then tack on any calories burned through exercise. From that number I subtract 500-1000 cals, for a targeted 1-2lb loss/week.
I anticipated burning around 200-300 cals on today's day 1 of the shred, but using my heart rate monitor I found that I actually burned 475 calories!
I guess the point I'm trying to get at was maybe you were either burning more calories than you thought and not consuming enough, so you're body went into starvation mode.
Alternatively you might not have been burning enough (although I don't think this is likely).
Often I run into the problem where people do these crazy workout plans but they cannot maintain the intensity required to keep the weight off (pre wedding/post baby etc). its a catch 22 for me.
its all diet at the end of the day. are you journaling? what are your meals like?
I turned to counting calories because, as it turns out, I wasn't eating enough. My body was in starvation mode, so I wasn't budging no matter how much working out I did. I shoot to eat between 1300 and 1700 calories a day. These points were measured as my "extreme weight loss" and "moderate weight loss" goals. I don't have too much left to lose so I aim to burn at least 350 calories more per day than I consume, giving me about a half a lb a week of weight loss. Of course there are days where I'll splurge on food (like a funeral I went to this weekend or a holiday cookout) and then there are days where I don't feel like working out. But I average about 350 calories down a day.
I've been shredding in conjunction with counting calories and running and I've seen great success. I think the diet may be more of the issue here.

I diasgree. When you're doing a workout such as the 30 day shred you're under mostly aerobic conditions and less of anaerobic. The calories burned are a combination of fat and carbohydrates.
[QUOTE]Thanks guys. Maybe I will just try the calorie counting thing. Because I am giving it as much energy as possible with the shred and totally not "phoning it in". I'm at the point of dying when I'm done with the shred.

I really suggest getting a heart rate monitor. It's really takes the guessing game out of how many calories you burned during a workout and what your daily caloric target should be.
I also want to mention that for me, it takes OVER 45 days to really start seeing the results from the exercise and eating better. And I use the shred and other Jillian Michaels workout DVDs for my exercise. Just wanted to mention this- keep it up, I swear you will see results soon! Some people just take longer than others.
