Spanish vs. English Wedding Vows

My first language is English and my fiance's in Spanish. most of our family and friends are not bilingual. My Uncle will be our officiate and is not  bilingual in any way shape or form. There will be a translator for the ceremony. We are going to blend everything in very nicely, and it WILL be beautiful. I would rather do my vows in English so i can say what i'm really feeling and i know my fiance will wish to do the exact opposite. I had a great idea, though. I really would like everyone's opinion. I would like to do Corinthians 13 4-7 (i know really original, huh?). What is had in mind though was like me reading, "Love is patient", then Victor reading "Love is kind (in Spanish)", and so on. I will talk to the interpreter more on this. i just want a few opinions. If you came to my wedding would you like to see this or not?

<div>I beleive that is a great idea! you could never go wrong with verses from the bible especialy Corinthians 13 4-7 those are words coming from the heart. i too come from  spanish decent and my fiance is Italian and our wedding will also be a bilingual ceremony and a hot and spicy party after..  good luck and be happy just remember always read your vows in hard times to bring you back to that special day when God brought you to toghether fight till death do you part.<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" /></div>

I love Corinthians 13:4-7! we are using that too (except going to v.8)
i really like the idea of the bilingual ceremony - very original and interesting for the guests!

We're doing something similar. Our entire ceremony is in Spanglish. We're both bilingual and it makes sense for us. I think it makes sense for you guys, too.

it souds good, but as a person who does not speak any other languages besides english, i'd be confused (even though i know that verse by heart).  maybe you could have the english and spanish versions of the verse written in your program somewhere.

We're doing something similar as the previous post.  He's German, but he's saying his vows in English and I'm saying mine in German.  But I do like your idea of doing one verse in English and one in Spanish.
