what did your guests do with them?

i mean, they would be displayed for after your ceremony and during the cocktail hour...so did they carry them around with them during the whole cocktail hour? or was there a mad scramble at the end of cocktails to find their escort card then bring their favor to their table?

i'm trying to figure out if i want to combine them, but i don't want my guests to carry around a favor and a drink in their hand and try to mingle.

help please

I haven't done this since our wedding hasn't happened yet but I think you're right. I think they'll have to hold onto the favor during the cocktial hour or rush to find their escort card. And usually the matre dee rushes the guests to their seats. I would just put the wedding favors at their tables. that's what we're doing

Because our "signature drink" is a frozen margarita, the favor is a margarita glass.  The escort "card" will be a 3D "lime" bearing the guests name and table number.  The "lime" will sit on the rim of the glass.  A coaster will await each guest at their table, essentially "holding" a place for the glass, to ensure a spot is saved amongst the rest of the place setting.  The guest can either fill it with the margarita drink or place it at their table and continue to mingle throughout the cocktail hour.

I think its OK to combine favors and escort cards. Guests can bring thier favor from the escort card table to the table they will be eating at and can leave it on there while they dance/mingle, etc.
