Candy Bar...stick to wedding colors or...

I was reading a few things online about Candy Bar buffets and I read that you should stick to your colors because if you go with just candy in general it will look tacky. My colors are Purple and a Ice blue..im thinking that it will be hard to find candy in that color..I have been on sites where you can shop by color but honstly im hopping to get a good bit in stores to save on shipping. So my question is..Should I stick to wedding colors to avoid it being too tacky (according to what I read) or should I just get general candy and not worry? thank you for you help!

Candy bar doesn't have to match your wedding colors.  It's not "tacky". Sounds like it's just some people's preferences to match.

If I were doing one, I would want it to be in the wedding colors, but I'm betting nobody would even care about that.

It's all about your personal preference. I'm doing my candy bar just in my wedding colors. I knew I would spend more money but I wanted to all to match.

I don't think it would be "tacky" to use any candy you want. I'm still thinking of doing a candy bar and one of my colors is purple, too. Here are some purple candy ideas I've thought of: grape swizzle sticks, lollipops, or rock candy (I believe I've seen an ice blue colored rock candy, too), grape pixie sticks, grape licorice, purple Jelly Bellies (I think they have an ice blue color, too), Mike and Ike Jolly Joes, dark chocolate kisses, purple M & M's, grape sour balls, grape taffy, grape Pop Rocks, and Grape Heads to name a few.

I had a candy bar for my wedding and i didnt use my wedding colors.I found that we had more options if we hadnt gone with certain colors(we did do the 2 bigger jars in our colors yellow & green though),even if it was tacky everyone seemed to enjoy it.
