stemless wine glasses... what to put in them

We've decided on stemless wine glasses for our favors.  They have been ordered with a golden maple leaf motif and sent to NH!  (We live in So. CA but both grew up in NH & are having our wedding there)

Anyway- I really wanted our favors to tie in with the Autumn season and our colors (Dark purple, Ivory with Gold accent.  We are a fall wedding so of course we are also tying in fall colors into our floral centerpieces...etc).  I am trying to find something unique to put in the wine glasses: I mean I've thought of candy - maple leaf lolipops, (BUT- I really don't wanna OVER do that) candles...etc...etc.  For some reason nothing is appealing to me.  I feel like I've hit a wall and lost any sense of creativity...
Any ideas???

I would probably not keep this favor for too long after wedding, since it wouldn't match any of my other glassware. That said, I think you were on the right track with putting something edible in them (maple sugar candy, chocolate, etc.) Edible items are always the best way to go with favors. If you do that, at least, the glassware would only be a container, not the entire favor.

Are you serving wine?  If not, that may not match the theme of your wedding, but if you are you can fill them with chocolate.  Sometimes when I go wine tasting they give chocolate to enhance the flavor of the wine.  Often times it is even chocolate chips, but I have also had wine with truffles. Trader Joes and Costco carry those at reasonable prices.

Fill them with chocolates wrapped in purple or gold tulle.

I'm from upstate NY and there are a MILLION maple products throughout the region that would fit in a small wine glass and go right with your theme :)

I'd go with gold and purple foil wrapped chocolates.

Maple sugar candies are delicious, and I think they'd go with your colour scheme and be relatively unique, especially for out of town guests.

I've been reading a lot about how bad this favor is.  I guess I thought it was cute, mainly because I really wanted something as a keepsake, but absolutely was not content about it.

Our wedding is the 2nd of October and and I'm stressing about what to do.  Now I agree that they may not be what we're looking for.  Thankfully- I contacted the site I ordered through and they have put our order on hold while I decide what I'd like to do.

Back to the drawing board I guess...  Thank you ladies for all of your insight!  Its greatly appreciated!

Seriously, what is so wrong with this favor idea? I think it sounds cute and matches her theme. Even if it doesn't match your glasses it is still a keepsake from someone who you care about.

I agree with jerseydevil.  If it is something that will make people think of you when they see it, then go for it!  Good luck!
