Favors

Program/favor

Hello,
I was just wanting some feedback from some people about an idea I had for wedding programs. My wedding is in July in a church with no air conditioning!!! I was thinking of having the program be a hand fan and serve as a neat keepsake... to some people. Just wondering if this would be a good idea and not look to tacky? Has anyone ever seen these in person?

Thanks,
Lindsay

I have seen program fans.  They work out nicely, though I'm not sure I'd consider it a "favor"

Thats what I plan on doing as programs for my beach wedding. I thought it was a very cute idea. I'm still doing a separate favor.

Good idea for a program.  I have seen this done before.  Even if you don't make the programs into fans, people will still use the programs to fan themselves so you might as well just make it a cute fan. :)  I would still get an actual favor for your guests to receive at the reception.

I agree with the other ladies. Good idea for a program, not so much for a favor.

You don't have to do favors, but if you do, I certainly wouldn't consider a fan to be one. Generally, edible favors are best as people tend to throw out knick-knacks that will just sit around and collect dust.

I think program fans are a good idea.  I keep programs as keepsakes, so that'd be fine.  As I consider favors optional, you don't have to do anything in addition to the program fan unless you want to.

I did the program fans - they are really cute - buy take a lot of time!  I wouldn't double a program as a favor.  The only thing I've heard of people doubling as favors are their place card settings (which honestly, is not really a 'favor' IMO) or pictures from a photobooth.  If you aren't really looking to hand out favors, possibly consider doing a donation to an organization in leiu of favors.  I know that has become very popular now.
