Why does she view us voicing our opinions as a fight?

In my opinion she is being overly aggressive.

If you are posting on a message board you are soliciting others opinions, if you straight out ask for the opinion or not.  By making your business public you have opened yourself to any comments that other choose to post.  If you dont like the comments ignore it.  No one can make you feel bad.  You only let yourself feel hurt/offended.

Operator, please do not give out erroneous information.  The number you provided to the waambulance is not in service.  Please try again or better yet, you are fired.

The comments I made about the tone and action of some on this board was not limited to my experience alone.  If you remember correctly, yesterday I gave examples of how others have been treated (e.g. the Chelsea McGowan incident).  So, please do not distort the facts to make it appear that I was complaining only about myself.

It really takes one to know one.  Because if you think I deserve a place on the waambulance, then I am in pretty good company. After all, weren't some of you whining this morning or yesterday about the board not being fun anymore, or about your inlaws.  So, step right up and lets enjoy the ride together.

Oh, I do not know where to begin.  In accepting this award, I will like to start off by thanking all of my fellow DFW Knotties for giving me the opportunity to express myself and for allowing me to opportunity to have fun on this board for the past 2 days.   The ride has been exhilarating.  I will also like to thank my silent backers for pushing me during those dark moments.   Finally, I want to thank my DH for putting up with my crazy behind for the past 14 1/2 years.   I am very honored to receive this award.  It is not every day you get to win an award of this magnitude.

...and I've got about 2 guesses on who the "silent majority" is.  Not that that matters.

Random question:  Does anyone actually make money off of automated calls?  You know, the ones where you answer a phone call and there's not really a person on the other end-just a message??  What about the automated faxes that are junk?  The ones where you can get a cheap carribbean cruise or a new roof for a ridiculously cheap price?  Do people actually make money off of that?  I get about 5 automated calls a day and about 3 junk faxes a day.  It's kind of annoying and it got me wondering if people actually listen to the whole message and follow up on it...

Our receptionist listens sometimes if they've got an important message because she wants to see if it really is important.  Otherwise she hangs up.  The principal's assistant has the fax machine in her office and I know she just throws them away.  If I don't hear a human voice then I hang up

Yeah, I always hang up or just delete the faxes but I'm wondering if there are actually people out there who call the companies to get that cheap carribbean trip, you know?  Or the medical insurance.   :)

Oh and to go along with that-how much money do companies waste sending out junk mail? and how many of them actually make a profit off of their junk mail?

I'v always ignored the faxes and phone calls but surely someone out there does.  If I had to guess they probably get the money from the elderly more than anyone, just because they seem to be the group that gets taken advantage of most.  And whether the cruises and such are legit, I have no clue.

I'm just now able to get on the internet.  My work computer got a virus of some sort.  So far so good.  Oh and it lost all those passwords so it took me about 10 times to log in to theknot.

I said the board isn't fun anymore because it feels like we have to spread big puffy pink glittery hearts (hehe) all over everything and if we give our REAL opinion then we are flamed for being insulting or mean...even if we are just being honest or constructive.

If that puts me on the waambulance, then fine.

I agree with Tiffany.  Honestly, if I don't like something someone is AWing or asking opinions about, I don't post anything at all because I don't want it to seem fake.  But I would never go out of my way to say something mean or offend anyone.

I think I heard somewhere, in reagards to the spam e-mails, that 1 out of every 100 messages sent out actually reply. So, if you multiply that the number of replies they can really add up. I don't remember where I heard that, maybe in the teacher's lounge, but it got me thinking.

I have cramps that are making my thighs hurt today. I want to puke.
I admit that I like it when people butt heads on here...makes for a more interesting read. Sometimes I lurk on P&E, where they are brutally honest with one another, for entertainment.
Ugh...2 more hours of lone office time with cramps...yay. Someone entertain me.
