flower decisions

I know this is vague, because I have no set colors and no preference on the type of flower... but does anyone have any suggestions on what would look good with this BM dress, preferably cost-effective (May wedding). Im going to need 5 bouquets.

Re: flower decisions

  • With that color dress I think any of the following would look nice:

    Light pink - pretty/romantic
    Orange - fun
    White - classic
    Purples - ???

Roses and carnations are typically pretty affordable and hearty.

  • Carnations are very cost effective and are also a pretty filling flower. Hydrangeas are also very full but I don't know about the price for them.
  • It's spring, it's a simple dress.  A small bouquet with 12 pink roses will be perfect.  Bunches Bob

  • For colors, I'd recommend going to a home improvement store and finding that blue color in one of their color samples/cards. Then match it to colors you like, regardles of season. You are almost deciding the color of your wedding that way, so it should be something you like.

May is springtime. If you don't care whether the flowers are in season or not, I'd say carnations and roses are your best bet. Fill in with some baby's breath which is very inexpensive. You are in the north, so peonies might be in season depending on the weather that spring.
  • Please don't use baby's breath (it is ugly and reminds me of baby showers)...there are so many other beautiful filler flowers out there, such as wax flower, statice, limonium, heather, etc.  Also, beautiful greenery can also be used as a filler as well.

Finally when it comes to your flowers, trust your florist....there are a lot more flowers in this world then just carnations and roses.

I think light purple would be pretty...not too sure what flowers come in that color though. Roses, maybe? Always a good option.

Gerber daisies are also fun (and inexpensive, I think). Hot pink or yellow ones would be cute with that dress.

    Good luck!
