Ranunculus boutonnieres

I love the look of ranunculus flowers. I really wanted them to be used for the boutonnieres, but my florist said he thought that they would not hold up as well as a rose.  Has anyone used a ranunculus as a boutonneire?  Did it work? Or do you have other suggestions?

Thanks!

actually they hold up quite well. They are not as delicate as they look.  We cold glue them into the bout's and or corsages ...rather than wiring  them.

I think your florist should think outside of the box.  You can pretty much use any flower (size should be taken into account or the guys may look like clowns) for a bout.  I love ranunculus and they will hold up just fine.

I really wanted to use them as boutineers too! One florist told me they were too delicate but the florist I ended up booking said they do hold up. She had before reviews.
