So we are thinking of doing an iPod wedding instead of a dj. We have a friend of the family that will do it for $250 for a dj, but we were thinking that speaker rental will still be cheaper. What all do we need besides the iPod to do this, we have already asked my brother to announce the transitions. So we are thinking just a microphone and speakers.
Re: iPod wedding
If you just want dinner music, ipod is great. One thing that a DJ can do that you can't do as easy with an ipod is change up the music being played based on what seems to draw people out to the dance floor. Our DJ is basically acting as our event coordinator at the reception to make sure all the things we want are done & keeping things on schedule.
