Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Recessional Dilemma

My fiance and I are huge baseball fans, so for our September wedding we're having fun with a baseball-themed event. Most of the theme is going to take place during the reception, but we wanted to have a few touches during the ceremony. While meeting with our amazing organist on Saturday, I commented that the pipe organ in the church reminds me of the sounds of the organ at a pro baseball game. That started the ball rolling, and now we're really excited that our recessional is going to be "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." We want it to be a surprise so we can enjoy the looks on our guests' faces, but now we're faced with a dilemma: do we tell our wedding party so they aren't surprised when the music starts up or do we keep it a secret from everyone and hope they aren't so shocked they forget to follow us back up the aisle? Smile

tell them you have a suprise song...but don't say what it is. that way they know something out of the ordinary will happen, but it won't ruin the surprise entirely =)
