I have actually HAD airbrush makeup.  Twice in fact.  It does not crack, is not heavy or cakey.  Does it look heavy or cakey in any of my dozens of pictures?  If your MUA says it's a bad idea, it's because she can't do it, OK?

I made a DIY wedding photo album.  It was EXACTLY the same quality as the one my photographer did and turned out great.  Just like I say in my review in my bio that actually shows pictures of it. So please ignore the posters below me that say they are low quality, don't exist, or you can get the same thing for $25 through Picaboo.  No you can't.

    Ugh.

    Stephie,
I totally agree with you on the wedding album part.  In fact, I will go one step further and say that, if you are getting the rights to your pictures, why do you need your photographer to make you an album?

I've never had airbrushing done but I think I would like it.  I like the Bare Escentuals stuff quite a bit because I don't end up looking shiny nearly as early as I would with my liquid make up.  However, that stuff is so drying, I'll only use it during the summer.

I know we went over this last week but I still can't believe that someone actually said that someone's vendor was second rate.  That was a low blow and completely unnecessary and uncalled for.

Whoa, look out!  Stephie is on attack! :)

Just kidding... yes I agree about the airbrush.  The makeup is amazing and if I could have it done every day, I totally would.

As for the album, I love love love my wedding album my photographer designed and created for us.  I've honestly never seen anything like it before.   I'm sure that you can order really nice ones of the same quality, but there is no way that I could have designed it the way they did.  For that reason, I'd say its a good thing to get it from your photographer if you aren't design saavy.

    Aaaand sheeeee's herrrrreeeee.....

I flame girls (N&M) that show up to a board, where they don't know the girls, the vibe of the board... nothing.... they don't contribute to the constructive side of the board (oh, like wedding planning), and post on controversial issues, just to stir the pot. It's annoying and unnecessary.

To add to that, I flame N&M for posting here, stirring the pot... and then going to other boards to bad mouth us.  Seriously???

Julie, I have loads of respect for you and I understand that this is how you feel and I truly respect that. However, before we go off another thread about how awful and childish I am, just know that there are 2 sides to every story. Yes, my comment was a little harsh and uncalled for but in our private conversations I tried 5 times to end the disagreement with her in a mature way. She was the one to continue with the conversation and was being a little overly dramatic here.  So, while yes I did hurt someone's feelings and "stir the pot" I did on several accounts try to make it right with her.

I really don't want this to sound angry or confrontational, I just want to set the record straight. You guys all saw what I said here on the board but there was alot of childish behavior on her part too in our private conversations.

I flame this lady at my office who just went off on a ten minute rant to the floor manager about how the kitchen is digusting and she can't even wash her cup in there.  Then she complained that the counselors on the floor (which there are several of them), should be responsible for their own clients.  The counselors aren't babysitters....its not like she ever cleans up after herself.

Brianna I can not believe that girl n so hypocritical by bashing us on another board.

    Renee,
I totally respect you too (I've told you that before) and I know there are two sides (I have heard that what she said was not very nice to you).  I know that we all say things that....well, are harsh.  I feel bad that the situation even escalated to that at all.  But I guess I felt really bad for her having her wedding pictures talked about like that since the same thing pretty much happened to me a year ago.

I think N&M kind of got off on the wrong foot on this board and it never really improved. Most people on here will only be mean to you if you are abrasive seeming from the beginnning or start things with others who are undeserving. Regarding stirring the pot and not being helpful - she asked for the treatment she got on this board.

That being said, I also feel like what N&M did over on her month board is something we have all done at least to some degree: "Those girls on E are harsh." or "The girls on my month board are mean, here's an example." - Not defending her, just being fair.

    And....

We are usually very nice to new people and we can be very helpful.  It's only annoying when the same question is asked multiple times and all the threads are STILL ON THE SAME PAGE.  Scroll down and look before you ask.  Yes, we'll answer your questions.  Obviously we want to help you or we would not have made a vendor sticky.  But, we're not here to decide all your vendors or to answer questions that a quick google search can answer.  If we know the answer (like reviews for vendors we have personally used) - then yes, ask us.  But don't ask us stuff that can be found on the vendors website.  We are not your personal search function.  Sheesh.

Stephie - I agree about the Airbrush makeup.  It is definitely better and lighter than normal foundation makeup.  You don't need as much for the same coverage and it is not heavy at all.

    Tiffany -   Irrelephant!  Lol!

Personal attacks bring people out on the defensive.  I felt hurt by that comment and I'm not even using that vendor and I don't even know her.

Just curious. How do you feel about the vendor in this thread?

I mean, I guess it's nice to have the opinion of a professional, and she's not directly advertising herself... But, I don't know, I still get a weird vibe from it.

I have no flame today because I haven't been on much this week. :(

    A flame for my coworker:

I'm pretty sure that just because your Mom didn't put you in day care when you were a baby, it caused you to have this intense anxiety about public speaking to the point where you can't even introduce yourself in front of a group.  So because of this you decide you are going to put your child in daycare (even though she has other options) and then complain nearly every week that he comes home sick or with a bite.  Please... this has been going on for 2 years.  Find a different solution or don't complain.
  • edited December 2011

IMO, if it wasn't for the marrieds who stick around giving their opion, we wouldn't have anyone to go to!  The board would look like this:

post 1:  Has anyone used *insert vendor here*?

    Post 2:  nope

Post 3:  I was wondering that too

Post 4:  I'm still looking for said vendor

    and so on....

So, thank you to all the old married hags who hang around here to give their honest opinions.

I also have another flame.  I flame parents who let their children run around barefoot in restaurants.  I understand if they are younger (newborn-maybe two), but gee whiz people!  This is supposed to be a nice restaurant!  I just don't get it...

Not to mention it's gross!!   I cringe every time I see a child barefoot in public.   Ick.  It's one thing if a kid bolts from a stroller or something, but to see them just frolicking (is that a real word?)  around barefoot....yuck.

    Wow.

Hello, pot, this is kettle.  I felt this yesterday when I was called a classist.  If she thinks I'm bad, then she would love my ILs.  They actually told me one time that they wished their city would just run out the people in the trailer park near their home because it's an eye sore and nothing but trash lived there any ways.  So, you can run and tell THAT.

I called out our former mod one time for going and complaining about this local board to the E board on FFF.
