Need help with finding a song!

I lost my father this past Father's Day after a long battle of complications associated with a stroke... my fiance and I are getting married this upcoming August and I am looking for a song in memory of my father. I am planning on asking my Godfather, who is also my father's best friend, to dance with me to the song. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Thank you... I was thinking about that one! I started looking up some country music songs too, they are all so sad... I don't know how i'd get through the dance!

I particularly love "Daughter" by Loudon Wainwright III. It is upbeat and not too long and pretty sweet as well.

Just a thought, but it's okay to skip the "father" daughter dance. If it's important to you, by all means -- do it. But nobody will be miffed if they don't get to watch you dance w/your godfather.

If you do decide to go w/it, the Luther Vandross song is a great choice.
