So I think everyone else will walk into Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
I have 2 choices for me walking, and I unfortunately think both are probably not going to work.
1) Va, Pensiero from the opera Nabucco by Verdi. GORGEOUS piece of music, and would have been a no-brainer except that my opera-loving uncle and my aunts and I watched it when he was in the hospital a few days before he died - we all sat there together and cried and cried, because he knew he would never see an opera again. So there's an element of trauma that the piece has gained because of that, and I'm worried my mother and aunts would be very depressed to hear it. However, most of them didn't/don't really know that piece and may not recognize it. My uncle would have been pissed if he knew I wanted it and didn't use it, but I really don't want to upset anyone.
2) The 1st section of the Bach cello suites - beautiful piece and absolutely wonderful, but a little too fast-paced for me to walk in to (could perhaps be better for the recessional).
Does anyone familiar with opera or baroque music have any other suggestions that might be good? What do y'all think of these? The other option on #1 is to sneak it in to the dinner time opera/classical mix where it's less prominent.
