Trash the Dress/Rock the Frock

My husband and I were married in June. We had an awful storm nearly blow our wedding plans away but luckily it cleared up for the ceremony... unfortunately, we weren't able to spend but 10 min with our first look photos and even that was in the rain. We LOVE our wedding pictures but we decided since my dress is already muddy and ripped, why not capture the moments we missed and take a trash the dress shoot to Dupont State Park ( where some of the best waterfalls are located in NC) and have some fun in the woods, water and with our dog.

Have any of you done this? If so, what did you take with you?

I have already talked to the sweet lady who altered my dress and we are going to clean my dress afterwards and preserve it but I want to know what to expect on a session.

Any POSTIVE advice would be greatly appreciated. We are going Sunday. My husband and I are extremely excited!

Re: Trash the Dress/Rock the Frock

  • I support these even if the dress is not dirty. Why not further commit to never wearing a dress again...nothing says I LOVE YOU like a TTD session.

Plus, like you said, it is already dirty. The photos will preserve it for you.

As far as the session goes, just let yourself go and realize, you get one chance at great photos. Make it happen and you will not be let down.
  • I think it sounds like a great idea! My wedding is in two weeks, so I haven't done it (yet!), but I'm thinking about doing a TTD session of some sorts because I have no desire to keep my dress and selling it would be pointless (for my circumstances).

I guess you've already done the session? Hope it was fun!
