Clothing colors for engagement photos

Ladies, FI and I are having our engagment photos taken at the end of the month... at Disneyland!!! We are so excited! I'm just having trouble with selecting my outfits for the shoot. Our photographer suggested that we wear "bright colors" and NO black or white. I'm going through my closet now and finding that I don't really wear many bright colors... my two favorite dresses which I've picked for the shoot are black and light grey. Bright colors just aren't "me". Shall I stick with my favorites or should I go shopping for something more colorful? Thanks in advance for the advice/opinions!

We wore grays and browns for our engagement photos, which were in a courtyard with grass, surrounded by brick buildings, and in a bookstore. (Moe's in Berkeley. Check it out, everyone.) Rather gray and brown places. I wish I'd worn something brighter.

But Disneyland is bright. I don't know how much it matters.

Besides, your wedding is costing how much? [rhetorical] Don't add any unnecessay expenses or shopping excursions.
  • Brights colors are fun but if they are not you then don't bother.  You want to stay true to who you are in the pictures.  Maybe add some fun accessories that are colorful or find little accents that you can make it pop!!  And accessories are more fun in pictures anyway.

    Hope that helps!
  • Thanks ladies! I'd rather not spend the money to buy new clothes if I can avoid it, and since bright colors just aren't "me" I think I will stick with what I've got. I've looked at some e-photos where the couple was wearing black, white. etc. and thought they still looked great. :)
