Try checking Craigslist. In general, it seems like the more you pay the better quality your photos will be. However, I've been able to find a few photographers in my area whose photos I like but are much cheaper than the average.

For more specific suggestions, you should post on your local board.

We just found a great photographer today in Atlanta and are meeting with her on Monday. I found her on Half Off Depot actually, she is offering half price engagement pictures as their "Daily Deal". I will let you know how it goes, if you want to check it out, her site is kellyembryphotography.com

yolangley, I actually live in Chattanooga TN, but I travel to Atlanta all the time. I had a wedding in Atlanta last year & really interested to do more. I don't charge much & give big flushmount albums with all the packages.

you can have a look at my work here: http://victoriamasonphotography.com/

Looking forward to talking to you :)

I think I say this everytime I see someone who needs a photographer but I really think they're fabulous: Check out Pro Deo Creations. I learned a little about them and they're really great because they charge just enough to keep them in business ("Pro Deo" means "For God" in Latin - very cool). They're packages start at $1,000 but they've done weddings for $500. I only know their Facebook site:

You get two photographers and all the images on DVD. I got mine in a week and there were hundreds of images plus a folder of the images they edited. It was great. Plus if you want prints and books they make those too but their prices are really great. Anyway, hope it helps!
