Pre-wedding Parties

Wedding Shower(s)

So....I'm in college in a different town than where I am getting married in June. My bridesmaids were going to come in over everyone's spring break and plan with my aunt to have just a gigantic wedding shower this March. After looking at things, it makes more sense to have 2 showers--one in March for family and one in May for girlfriends that won't have to fly in during the semester. What all do I --the BRIDE--need to do for these showers? What is the limit on how many people I can give names/addresses for? I just need to figure out very soon who is invited to which party and give names/addresses asap!!! Any thoughts? My entire wedding is about 150 people.

Who is hosting the showers for you? Who ever is hosting is who you need to speak to about the guest list. It will depend on their budget, really. They can do a lot for less if they are clever about it. I totally recommend them coming her for some ideas.

The people you want to invite to both showers....
-bridesmaids and other female members of the bridal party (flower girl, anyone doing a reading, etc)
    - Your mother
    - Your future mother in law
    - yours and his grandmother(s)
    - yours and his female siblings

After that you only invite the following people to ONE of the showers. These people are optional, but suggested.
    - yours and his aunts
    - yours and his cousins
    - your really good girlfriends

You don't want to go crazy because, well, if you invite the entire female population of your wedding that would be ridiculous to do to your hostess. It would end up almost as big as your wedding reception lol.

All you have to do is provide the guest list to hostess and provide addresses. After that, pick out a cute outfit and show-up. :)
