question for the married ladies

So I've been waiting to write my reviews until I saw our pictures. I wanted to make sure I gave the photographer a fair review. It's been exactly a month today. We haven't seen any pictures. We haven't even seen one little picture on their facebook or blog. Is that normal?  Their last blog entry on Dec 1st was a Halloween wedding. When we took our engagments we saw them on the blog in 2wks and about a month later after my nagging they sent us the CD and pictures.
I guess my question is should I nag them about the pictures or just wait and see how long it takes and hold it againist their reveiw on the wire? What is the average time until you usually get to view them online and your CD? I know the actual book takes a while. Our photographers were Nine Photography just in case your wondering.

We had our online portfolio waiting for us in our inbox when we got back from our HM (10 days later) and I think we were blogged that same week.  I think we got our DVD in early December after our Nov. wedding.  Did you discuss this beforehand or is it listed in your contract anywhere?  I don't think there would be any harm in sending them a friendly e-mail letting them know you would like a status update.

I had my pictures in a about 3 weeks, I think, but that is definitely not the norm. I'd say at least 2 months is probably closer to average.   Did they give you a turnaround time when you booked?

Especially with the holidays, I would probably give them at least another month before changing your opinion/reviews of them.  If your concerned about your pictures, give them a call/email and get an update...maybe they can send you some teasers.

Some photographers just aren't big bloggers either, so you can't really hold that against them.

I had Nine as well. In our contract it said 2 weeks.  I think we finally saw pics in the gallery 4 weeks out and then got the CD around 6 weeks.  They never did a blog for us.

I would just ask them how much longer it will be- that's what we did.

No she's a blogger. They even won a blog award this past year. They've just kind of fallen off lately. She keeps telling me how they are super busy shooting. I just think they should pencil in editing time too. I reread the contract and I guess I misread it originally. I thought it said you'll have the CD in 2 weeks but when I looked again it actually said 2wks from the day they load the online gallery. I guess I'll hold off and email after the new year.

Our turnaround time was 6 weeks. She had them up on week six and brought me the cd on week 7.

It's only been 3 weeks. I know you're excited but have a little patience please. I'm sure you are not their only wedding that they photographed. No one likes a nagging bride. If you don't hear anything after the new year, then say something.

Renee it's actually been 4wks and 2 days, not that I'm counting :) I just posted in PP that I would wait to after the new year. I wanted to get an idea of average wait time before deciding rather or not to contact them.

My photographer said up to 6 weeks, and at 4, I sent a friendly email asking if they'd be ready in time to do some photo gifts for Christmas, and told her if not that was fine... and they ended up being ready the following week.  So if you're nice about it, I'd say an email after a month isn't nagging...

I am a little late on this. But if I were you I would send a quick and to the point, nice email asking when they thought your photos would be ready. I had to do that several times. Sometimes it can expedite the process if you annoy them. Hah.
