I'm usually only on this board on the weekends, but I'm so excited I just had to start the thread today.
We finally adopted a dog!!!!
It was proof that things happen when they are meant to happen. I've been trying to adopt a dog for over a month, but being kind of specific what I was looking for. I applied to a foster group on Tuesday, and a woman there called me back right away saying, "It's the strangest thing ... we took a stray that's not actually the breed we normally rescue, and I think she might actually be perfect for you. Oh, and I live 2 blocks away from you, so would you like to see her tonight?"
We liked her, and she left her with us. And it's been non-stop dog time ever since!!! She's house-trained (but still learning how to show me when she has to go) but doesn't know any commands. She's sweet in general. 1 year old, terrier/schnauzer mix (they think) found as a stray a week or two ago.
