So here's the deal.... my FH's mom is supposed to be making our wedding cake, she has made many in the past and she volunteered.
Our wedding is in 2 months and she called FH today and told him that her kitchen aid mixer broke and she can't do the cake without it. She asked to borrow his, I don't think she is trying to get out of doing the cake.
Here is my question... would it be tacky to buy her a new mixer but make it known to her that this is her mother of the groom gift that we would normally give her right before the wedding? Other info, this gift will easily be twice the amount we budgeted for her gift and anything we get my mom...
