I walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D the first time, CANNOT do it again! No bridal party, just us-- any suggestions for our processional? Using a classical guitarist...
We are going to be quite untraditional and walk down to the Wedding Song by Peter Paul and Mary. We both love that song and had no where else to fit it our ceremony. It is kind of long so our thought is to have the Officiant walk down the aisle, then the Groom and last but not least me the bride.
We're using "Feels like Home" but I would think you could pick a lot of songs that have meaning to you and have them done as an instrumental version, I think it would be beautiful.
I agree with Sloane99 pick a song that has meaning to you, We haven't decided what our processional will be, but it won't be a traditional wedding march.
I bought a CD at Hobby Lobby, "A Day to Remember". Website here: www.myweddingmusic.com . These are covers by a group.
You can listen to several different songs, some secular, some "religious". There are several for procession & recession. It also has "The Wedding Song (there is Love)" by Paul Stookey of Peter Paul & Mary. I love this song as well, and might use it.
If we have music at our ceremony (we're getting married on the beach, very simple, very short, no chairs, decoration, etc.), we're thinking of playing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".. that would be lovely on the guitar. Really, you could choose any song you love, and see if your musician can play it. What's your "song" with your fiance? Or just a favorite melody you both enjoy?
we got it right the second time around!
ten.twenty.twenty-ten.
I'm planning to walk to an instrumental of the Beatles "Something". FI and I love that song, There are more Beatles songs sprinkled throughout as well. I agree with PP- make it something meaningful
We used La Rejouissance (Music For the Royal Fireworks), by Handel. All of our music was classical, but did not include "Here Comes the Bride," "Wedding March," or "Canon in D." Here is a link to all the music we used, with videos.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA. Lois, this is not my Batman glass."
I hear ya! Here are some suggestions (classical) for your processional:
Air on the G String - Bach Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - Bach Trumpet Voluntary - Clarke Trumpet Tune - Purcell Ode to Joy - Beethoven
Of course, there are a ga-zillion more choices out there. These are ones we are considering. And, by the time of the wedding (July 2011), we'll likely turn this list upside down/inside out, cross 'em all off the list and ... finally, end up with one of these anyway! Ha!
You know, my party walked to Canon in D last time, and I walked to something else. I was worried about walking to it myself this time, but who cares? If you like something, walk to it.

Good luck.
