Wedding Date :  April 2013 - we're getting married under blooming cherry trees. That's a 3 week window sometime in March/April. We'll give our out of town parents 2 weeks notice to fly in. 4 local friends will be only other people there. We'll plan a giant family union celebration later in the summer on a fixed date so people can plan and fly. All our family is out of state (or country).

How's the wedding planning going? Any blips or bumps in the road?  all we have is a general plan! The family is a bit confused but when FI realized I REALLY wanted to be married under the cherry trees he insisted, even if it non-traditional.

Next major project to tackle?   Save-the-dates that are clear that we're inviting people to a family union celebration, not a wedding, but that we want them all to come!

How's the wedding planning going? Any blips or bumps in the road? Planning from a distance, isolated community with no dress shops ... planning is in the early stages. We know it will be at a family member's lakeside cottage, but that's about it so far. Better get cracking!

Next major project to tackle? Everything (including house renos, work AND wedding)

How long did you and FI date before engagement?  It's complicated! We met and dated in high school off and on for two years and that was 21 years ago. He told me he would marry me one day - is that a proposal? If not, he officially asked me to marry him 12 years ago...

How long between first date and wedding date? 22.5 years

How's the wedding planning going? Any blips or bumps in the road? We're having a small, low-key church wedding. We've been together for a long time. The ceremony is more about us making a commitment to God. No blips or bumps yet, but we just started planning!

Next major project to tackle?  I'm flying to Dallas in two days to spend a week with my mom and go wedding dress shopping!

How long did you and FI date before engagement:  We have been together for 5 years.  We had built a house together this last year, and I had felf that I wanted to get married.  I love this guy so very much, but as I got older, I wanted the security as well.  

How the wedding planning going:  We are getting married in California but live in Oklahoma (all my friends and both our families live in California.  This week I am flying out to California. We are going wedding cake testing, and he is going to see the places I selected for wedding and reception.  Otherwise the only blimp is deciding on wedding colors. I am going with my daughter shopping for a dress, so I can get going on other details...

Other thing I am working on is the weight....9 months away and just trying to lose all that I can...

Next major project to tackle?  We have yet to tell our immediate family members.  I have told my sister and brother, but thats it.  This weekend we will be telling both sets of parents, and all his siblings.  And I am nervous. I think more so nervous that they will not think its anything exciting- since we have been together for three years, and since I have been married before.  Just... nervous.

Hi everyone.  My name is Debra.  This will be both mine and my FI 3rd marriages.    We really wanted to elope, but our children wanted to be present for the wedding.  It's amazing how complicated things can get when you're trying to "keep it simple". 

I am a widow and my FI is actually my husbands cousin.  We've had lots of comments and my husbands family no longer speaks to me.  It's very sad - but I feel so blessed to have found my FI.  We are both very excited about our marriage and believe my husband will be smiling down on us.  Our children are supportive and will be our wedding party.

Wedding Date:  We randomly picked March 15, 2014.  Its a random date, subject to change based on venue choice and what we decide we want.

I have been married 3 times before, my FI has been married twice before.

We started dating on June 18 2011 and have not been apart since.  We are not the perfect couple but we are perfect for each other.  I cannot imagine a life without him in it.  He is the only person in my entire life that I can fight with, and then later make up and just plain apologize because I want to have fun and not be mad. . .right and wrong are irrelevant. . .I am usually wrong because I am soooooo OCD. . .lol.  

Got engaged on December 4, 2012.  Awesome. Our kids are all grown and in the military.  His 2 boys are Army and my boy is Navy.  My son is walking me down the aisle and his are standing with him at the altar. . .
