My first dress fitting is in 1.5 hours

I am so nervous!  My dress has been in my FIs parents house since I bought it in January.  It was a little snug then, and I'm not sure if I've lost enough weight to fix that (I better have...I gave up candy for Lent, ran a million miles, and took up yoga).  It laces up the back, so it's impossible to really see how it fits without help, and I don't have any of that...

I can't believe our wedding is 23 days away and it's just getting altered now.  Ugh.  I'm so far behind...

If it makes ya feel any better - my first fitting was on saturday.  It won't be ready for me to pick up until June 5th.  We are on an airplane first thing Wednesday June 8 for the wedding on Friday the 10th.  YIKES!

Ugh. I am so unhappy.  The dress fits.  It's fine, but it's just not me. :(

I bought it because it was an absolute steal at a bridal salon that was closing.  I've worked like crazy to fit in it, which I do, and I look at myself in it and it just doesn't look right.  For one thing, I don't like that it's ivory.  And I think it's just too formal.

The alterations are going to cost me $270 (to hem and bustle). I'm seriously considering asking them to wait to start because I'm just not sure I want to spend that for a dress I don't love.

I just ordered a different dress from David's Bridal.  I swear, I'm losing my mind.  It should be here on Monday.

What color did you order the dress from David's Bridal in?  I like both gowns but I can totally understand not liking ivory - I can't wear it so I didn't!

I hope that the gown you ordered is one you love!!

Forgive me - I can't remember what kind of wedding are you having?  Because while both dresses are lovely - I can see they feel very different.

And is the ivory not working because of your skin tone?  (this is why I went with ivory - white looks harsh on me)

Our wedding is not terribly formal--the ceremony is in our church, the reception is in the dance hall of the firehouse next door to our house.  My FI, groomsmen, and son/my 4 yo escort are wearing khaki pants, white shirts, ties, and navy blue jackets.  My MOH and daughter/FG are wearing short navy blue (and magenta for the FG) dresses.

The ivory dress feels formal to me.  I don't think either color looks exceptionally great on me.  I can't wait until the dress gets here.

Ok - so with the casualness of your mens' wear - I would go with the second one (assuming you like how it looks on you!)

The first dress definitely feels more formal - BUT it is your wedding - if you decide you want to wear it, I am certain it will fit in just fine.

there is nothing wrong with the bride being a bit more dressed up than everyone else.

    Good Luck!

The dress came this morning, and I LOVE it.  It needs some minor alterations--shortening the straps to cut back on the cleavage, but it's just soooo dang cute!
