33 days left...

My fiance was asking if I should call the cake place about our cake. He said he's more worried about that place than the DJ. . .I was thinking about calling about 2 weeks prior to the wedding, we did order it back in July. Any suggestions?

Also, with 33 days left, I'm afraid I'm missing something. I'm looking to order napkins (last minute decision any suggestions on where to order?), ordering table cloths this weekend, gotta get my dress altered and finish the centerpieces, all bouts and corsages are done, bouquets are done. Gotta write out our song list. . . anything else you think I might be missing?

I'm so stinking excited!

The Knot checklist says 1-2 weeks on confirming cake vendor so that should be perfect.  At a month out, I was doing things like timeline, day-of itinerary, music playlist, etc.  I also started getting my personal items together in one place (veil, jewelry, old/new/borrowed/blue, etc.), making sure I had my wedding night and HM attire, and also gathering up things like picture frames, guest book, etc., and putting those together--I actually had 3 boxes, one for RD, one for reception, and one for ceremony, and started putting things in as I could so that when it was time to go, everything was already together.  You can get your marriage license soon too.

Curious about the marriage license. . . .does it expire if you don't get it signed? I'm afraid to get it this Friday (my fiance wants to get it then). Afraid the guy doing our wedding ceremony won't get it where it needs to be by the expiration date (if it works that way). . . .

You have 30 days from the time you obtain your marriage license until the time it expires, and it must be filled out by your officiant at the ceremony. We mailed it back to the Registrar's office ourselves in the envelope that was provided. If you don't trust your officiant to mail it off for you, ask someone else to do that for you that will definitely get it done. You may want to ask when you get it  (or call and ask before you go) to see if it has to be postmarked within the 30 day timeframe, since that wasn't something that I asked about/or recall them mentioning. If so, you may want to hold off and get it another time. The only timeframe I recall is that you cannot use the license within three days of obtaining it unless you have been granted special permission to do so.

We did the Two-gether in Texas 8 hour class. . . we don't have the 3 day waiting period and it's only $11 (sweet!) I think I'm going to wait another 2 or so weeks before getting it. . . Thanks!!!
