hey ur panamanian? ur goin to wear a pollera? how exciting...my fiance and i are both panamanian.....im not going all out like that but its cool that you are....i can ask my mom about any ideas she may have...when is ur wedding?

yeah im panamanian.. I want to wear a pollera if i can get one before the wedding... its august 28th 2010.. because my mom is panamanian but she got married over here and she knows of the pollera she didnt do a big wedding thing so im trying to incorporate my traditons with his traditions and what not.thanks so much!

usually like for me im having small panamanian hats for the favors...putting them in small boxes...i hear that is one tradition.....im also naming the tables by different places in panama rather than giving them numbers....if you have any family in panama u can get a nice pollera that way....the only other thing is u can come to bk and find a panamanian spot...there are tons...i can help if anything....i have a pollera actually but its not the one with the biiiiiiiig dress...its a simpler one...and its white.....now y didnt i think of that lol lol

im from bk too , but i live in nj .. where at did you get your stuff at? when is your wedding? you using a regular dress? you doing a grooms cake and bride cake? && you making the fruit cake on the side? im glad i found someone who can help me lol me and my mom are brainstroming away lol.

oo cool.....im gonna request u as a friend so we can continue to exchange ideas.....i am not going as traditional as you are but my family is very panamanian lol lol whatever that means....so i can definetly get you some helpful answers..or at least try to .....i ordered a dress....not doing a pollera....the one i have i actually got from my aunt years ago...used it when i taught fourth grade...as a cultural project...my wedding is 4-10-10 ....in sarasota florida (tampa area) i am only doing a bride cake and the fruit cake im still not sure yet...so how much have you done so far? and where is ur fiance from?

ok i requested you as well.. my fiance is american... he claims he is panamanian though lol .. oh florida sounds pretty.. i found my reception and ceremony site, the reverend, photographer.. im working on what favors i wanna use.. and how to incorporate traditons in there lol.. how about you?? how far are you on your wedding? oh do you know the streets of where i can get some of the panamanian things at..??

well u can definetly find some panamanian things on church ave......even nostrand....im going to do some research for you to get specific places...i have an aunt on some panamanian comedies.....lets see ...well we are getting married in the catholic church...so we have already done our pre marridable classes....pre cauna they are called...ordered my dress....he ordered his suit...have the favors...well my aunt is bringing them from panama next month...ummm have the reception spot half way paid already thank god....have a photographer...flowers is being taken care of by a friend....dj...all i need to do is take the brides maids to get there outfits really ....

yea thank god for my mother!!! we ordered the cake too...like we really have the ball going...this weekend im staying in to help my sis finish the invites...she designed them herself....but anyway...glad to have met another panamanian bride to be ./....and again...im gonna keep my eye open for places with panamanian things ....and feel free to keep me posted with ur wedding progress...
